29-04-12, 08:50 GMT+10#21 Ah huh. Thanks big time for that I'm going to spend this morning susing it out. When I toke the old box out it had one wire from there to a connector box. And there was another wire which had broken off somewhere.
Hopfully if i can find that mayb the revs might drop too? Lol hope so anyway

29-04-12, 10:08 GMT+10#22 Another thing to check is the speedo drive gear colour in the trans.
When you pulled the speedo cable out of the box, it would have had a coloured gear on the end of it. Standard VL V8 will have a light blue colour gear which has 25 teeth to match the 3.08 diff.
Because I changed my diff to 2.77, I swapped the gear for a yellow one which has 24 teeth and now my speedo is pretty much bang on

thanks man
got some updates and pics of all the hard work tonight.
---------- Post added 15-09-12 at 00:53 ----------
so drove it to where all the fun began lol
started with the hard stuff first.
sanding the roof to get rid of all the crazy cracking. after 20mins of trying to sand it found it was easier to scrape it off to primer. then was to sand the primer down till we had this...
next we bogged and sanded down the holes from the rails and any imperfection that was there. then Jase got on the gun and sprayed the primer
so finished up at midnight with two coats of primer on. then tomorrow i think the goal is to lightly sand it back and go from there.
sorry about all the pics just thought id post all that i got.
enjoy
