08-04-12, 11:59 GMT+10#22 Don't really want to get involved with the bs in this thread, but me, and also another guy I know have spent a lot of money to get even close to 300rwkw from a 355. Would be very interested to know how you've done this from a 304 and have "everyday" drivability??

He's already said how, first he didn't use a weak EFI setup he used a dual deck redline manifold, on top a 750dp holley and he has used cast iron VN heads that have been ported and polished and let's not forget "Crow solid cam yellow terra rollers and crack"
And if you don't believe it your an idiot because Larry Perkins makes that power from 304s, no doubt he also has split deck yellow crow rockets and crack too.
On a serious non bull**** note for a change I've also got a 304 VN style motor with a GT35/40 at 15psi and I'm hoping when it goes on the rollers it will turn close to 300 at the treads, just waiting on some bits to land from the US for my TH400 as the TH700 fried before I added the boost.

08-04-12, 22:49 GMT+10#24 I love it when people talk tough on the internet . rofl !!!!!! I have to ask though Adam B , why are all your mates on fb 12/13 yrs old ? Something suss there dude . As for copping ****. , well you can hardly blame Nutter & co , including myself who have had a number of these engines and know/seen what it takes to make that sort of power . The combo you've given us would be lucky to make 300 hp atw & you're claiming 400 atw from a stock stroke 304 reliably and managed to keep it all under the bonnet . Dude do you even know what 400 hp atw wheels is like to drive ? Doubt you'd be driving such a car as a daily . It was funny while it lasted mate but don't embarrass yourself anymore than you have .

I did back in post 4, I was just curious what combo was used to make these impressive figures only because I've turboed mine to try and achieve what he claims to have done with parts that sound like they've been lifted of the advertising pages of a commodore mag rather than one of the best engine builders in the country.

Exactly why I am so intrigued by this blokes claims. He claims he has spent 10grand on this motor, when i know 2 others and myself that have spent 20 grand to acheive that power out of a 355. Couldn't care less if he is talking crap or not, but believe it or not some people actually read these forums looking for genuine advice.
Seeing people claim that 400 rwhp can be easily made from a 304, for 10 grand, without giving out any specs of the motor is just crap not worth being posted.

Ive just put in a worked 304 into my Calais ive got 400+hp at wheels.
Now i need a diff that can handle it i have been looking at a 9inch to suit my car and a 10 bolt Salisbury. What i am asking is what u guys think would be better going for cheers Adam
You might want look at getting some billet axles to go the 28 spline diff as the stock turbo ones will probably suffer with a manual box or a set of slicks.

Obviously you do care because your commenting.who cares if hes making 4hp or 400hp i think the question was about diffs not his engine/combo.
Your rite people come on here to get advice the thread maker isnt to blame he didnt turn it into a **** fight to start with lol he only asked a question lol.

09-04-12, 10:34 GMT+10#31 I think the thread maker is to blame. It wasn't so much the question (tho he could of used the search button) Its the stupid claims after.
Back to the first question. It all depends on your budget either a Borg Warner or a 9in and put some 31 spline axles and center to suit if you don't mind a locker go a full spool ect.
Its all been said and done use the search button on here or on Street Commodores.

10-04-12, 15:43 GMT+10#35 Guys look im here to say sorry for miss lending info. I spoke to the guys who build my engine today while in horsham the engine is putting out 458hp at flywheel not rw like i said. They put engine on dyno before putting in car so im sorry i got the info wrong from them and thought that was rwhp , i didnt no engine builders put the engine in a engine dyno. So again guys im sorry. But i am still looking for a good lsd for it that one you posted VLPSI355 i looked mate but i really dont want a full spool or mini bud coz as i said im driving it every day to work and home but thanks for your info. Again sorry to all for the misleading info.
I will still get the read outs and full specs and post them up.
And Nasty thanks for you surport bud after everyone going me didnt think there was any decent guys on here. After all as you said i did only ask for diff info not to be flamed out.

10-04-12, 16:40 GMT+10#38 Well done Adam on admiting your mistake, much more realistic figure for your motor.
I did have a look at the pics and it looks pretty good.
As for the diff, as above a VLT diff should be fine.
Good luck with it all.

and if u have spent 20 **** u have spent 5 g to much lol there is that much info on them now if u cant build one for 15 you a stupid ****
