battery tray is easy to remove. just sand down the tray till you see the spot welds and drill them out be handy to have a sandblaster to bare metal it

^^ wow mate that looks amazing.. has that bay been bead blasted? ---------- Post added 30-09-12 at 20:15 ---------- ok so i was wondering how everyone removes the lip on the firewall. what's involved? i want to start on mine tomorrow. already got the bumps on the strut towers done. I also need to know how to remove the recess under the battery tray and smooth it like it the pic above. Can someone please tell me step by step how to do it. i have a gas/gasless mig welder and argoshield light with 0.6mm solid wire so i can cut and weld if need be but i'd prefer to work with whats there if i can get a desirable finish out of it with minimal bog.

The one which the washer bottle usually screws to? I cut an X in mine and tapped it down and then rewelded it. The bigger ones down near where the battery try goes I just belted out with a hammer. Much better to do it in a few big hits instead of lots of little ones as you don't stretch the steel so much

What's the go with boxed rails , is it definitely a no no as I was about to do mine . Tapping the lip up on the firewall will leave a bump . I ground mine off with a belt sander . After primer will fill the little gap with urethane . What do I do with the strut towers ? Trying to make it smooth and all one piece .

I welded round the struts on mine and filled over that. No issues with cracking at all

I've noticed small spot welds along the sides of the strut towers did you guys weld these up and use bog or filler on the small divets ??? Also did you buy pressure pack primer or get some that you use in a spray gun also how did you sand the bays buy hand or orbital sander as lots of the bay is concave and not that flat ???

Boxing them is illegal, the only legal way is as I said on the first page, Best way to do it and the legal way is to cut the lip off run a weld along where the 3 pieces of metal come together. Do not attempt this however if you are not a capable welder. Bay would look way better Kobi if it was Harleqien __________________ Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
