I pretty much just went through all this, no tint, venetians in the back, cant see anything. Think there is a pick of my car in the show us ya car thread, cage is painted black and ties in with the black window surrounds on the doors, ya catch it on the second look. Yeah its a 6 point cage, a half would be good but its only good at the track til 9.99. I want to go faster than this so i figured, save having to strip the car all over again for safer welding around roof linings etc i just went 6 point straight up. When the rear screen is getting fitted, you clip the venetians to the window and then drop it in, cos ya cant get the venetians in properly cos of the rear stays. I would love to get my car engineered but everyone has there licence on hold.

So yeh they just make the rule to override all the dodgy cnts making home job cages lol

Yeah the cage ha specific chromoly characters to adhere to and needs to be welded all the way round the tube, not just the bottom, needs to welded at the top where it meets the roof, dosnt pass ANDRA spec, therefore, no fast passes for you. I only just got my full ANDRA tech sticker, there is a fair bit of stuff they want done, but its all for saftey. You need to get a cage pre-teched before it gets painted, otherwise they wont pass it, so they can check the material used and the coding that is stamped on the tubing. So many people make this mistake.

Yer I'm going 6point for the same reason shaun55, I intend on coin faster then 9.99 so 4point is useless to me, also the guy doing my cage IS an andra tech inspector so won't have issues with it not meeting requirements.

Yeah i organised the Tech Inspector to come to the workshop and sign it off etc. I have seen people build a cage, have it all beautifully painted and the rest, then have it not comply... Massive Dramas lol. It will probably take a while for me to get to that sort of time as im only a begginner, but i have everything in place to do so. ---------- Post added 02-02-12 at 13:39 ---------- ---------- Post added 02-02-12 at 13:40 ---------- Quote: Originally Posted by shaun55 [View Post] Yeah i organised the Tech Inspector to come to the workshop and sign it off etc. I have seen people build a cage, have it all beautifully painted and the rest, then have it not comply... Robp30l, mate a company called JP Fabrications do all my work like that, he did my cage, diff, tailshaft and some other custom stuff. He builds heaps of top end cars like the Bublime 200sx etc. I have never had a cage before but when i took it to my mechanic, Maatouks and Powercruise, heaps of people commented on how good it was, so it must be alright lol. He is at Berkley Vale on the Central Coast
