it cant be any bush or a bent LCA because, as with the strut top, where ever the bottom goes, the stub will follow..
Swap the disk rotors from side to side and see if the symptom follows.

TUXEDO:
I will give that a go but I'm still going to change the control arm assembly while I'm at it.

the control arms wont make a different
the problem is with the strut/coil over itself
can you measure the distance from the base of the strut to the lower double locking nuts (the spring base) should be the same left to right

ask your supplier as they may swap them?
must be a bent stub axle or lower factory weld
you could ever swap them to other side (less steering rod end) and the problem will be on the PS side then just to prove that it is not any of the control arms or strut tops
take them out the car lay them back to back and you will find the stubs are not the same

Seems funny the tyres would even hit with those rims. I've got VX GTS rims on my car with stock struts and they clear easily. The factory spring is way bigger in diameter thuan a coil over spring

Have you have a wheel alignment yet? The towers where they struts bolt into flex badly in the early models, get an adjustable strut brace and put it on jacked up in the middle of the car so it is adjusted ready to bolt on....then before bolting it on drop the car and see how much difference there is.....you will be surprised.
If the tyre is close that is OK, if it is hitting then the strut / stub will need to be straightened.
Told him I haven't had a wheel alignment, won't fix anything as they can only adjust the wheels side to side (without an adjustable strut top for camber).
Neither will fix the wheel from rubbing on the adjusting nuts.
I don't need/want to run a strut brace.
Asked him for another coilover (driver side).
Got this reply back..

Best to bring the car over and we will press that one straight, the next could be the same, hit and miss with them. They only have to be out less than 1 mm at the stub to be 6 mm or so out at the top.
Would have been like that from factory. They are not very good the way they pressed in at the factory.
Looks like I have to take the car to him to straighten stub, can this even be done?

how can you take the car to him like it is??
take the strut off and either start again with another strut or just heat the inside wall of the strut tube, as steel cools it shrinks, might be enough to clear the tyre
(not the inside the tube but the side opposite the stub)

The car is driveable as its on ceptors and they are smaller tyres and don't hit.

Looks like he'll cover it for you, the.bloke was suggesting the strut is bent not the stub axle, he seems happy to sort it out so I suggest you let him knock himself out

1. Coil overs do not necessarily give you more clearance to run bigger wheels.
2. You have the wrong offset wheels. (standard is 43P and anything higher than this is actually illegal)
3. Strut tops and camber won't change a thing.
4. It could be a slightly bent stub axle- you won't notice it by eye. Some race suspension shops can 'bend struts'. Normally they bend them to increase negative camber but they might be able to fix yours up.

Very true, my mate has this same problem on his Golf with rubbing on the inside because of the coilovers.
Also, did that guy charge you $1,200 for just the front set? they would want to be good if thats the price. Couldve got a full custom set for that much or some KWs etc.
