Alot of time will need to be spent getting cruize mixture correct. Injectors often only ever max out at full load 'and' over a specific rpm. The Calibrator/Tuner needs to either set the rev limit or boost so this doesn't ever happen. e.g. at stock VLT is smashing 81% duty through injectors at 4800rpm. at 5600 the injectors have almost gone static @ 96% DC. At 6000 - 109% commanded DC, game over, starting to lean out. the only engine saver is the fact the factory mapping is about 10% rich to begin with. Still pushing the boundaries of the injectors, a rising ratio fuel pressure regulator is needed (quick fix) to keep things in check, otherwise larger injectors are the only other option along with a fuel supply upgrade. Sorry bro couldn't tell you from the top of my head which malpassi it is, i just know its black haha. But thats just it i dont want to push it to the limits, i wanted a nice clean cruiser, which i wouldnt have to rebuild in a year. And the malpassi was bought for the very idea that it would keep the ratios right, as it adds more when boosting, and leans it out a little on idle, correct me if im wrong. Looks like a new 3" exhaust is on the books and a retune at AVO's new shop in Hallam. Im sure they'll be more then happy to use the malpassi. And thanks Chaser Much appresciated Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

more when boosting/ less when cruising is all to do with the tune rather than the regulator. The malpassi needs to be a known factor. The boost and base fuel pressure must be known to ensure the fuel pressure doesn't exceed the pumps supply volume for the engines requirements under load or you'll be up the **** regardless. It's easily checked with a fuel pressure gauge and a constant air supply to the regulator signal port. see if it's 1psi-fuelpressure increase/1psi-boost.

Thanks bachig24u, you seem to know your stuff, should come move down to Melbourne and show the boys hows it done. Im sure JJM Turboworld will know what to do with the malpassi Gonna give them a call tonight, and hopefully get her in some time this week. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Has my fuel pump shat itself? Never heard it make this noise, but i also never fould BRAND NEW PLUGS TODAY IN 40km, didnt even get to make it to put on my new exhaust... started farting and splattering all over the shop after 30km, so i took it to a mates, cleaned the BRAND NEW PLUGS, which looked like this. AFTER 40km!!! FUEL PUMPS MAKING A WEIRD NOISE, CAN SOMEONE CONFIRM SHES DEAD? And does a dead fuel pump, sometimes pump too much fuel into the system? thinking this might be the reason for the over fueling, and black plugs. If your car won't make it to the workshop, best thing to do, call up RACV and get total care. Best $197 per year you will spend per year, especially owning a VL or any modified car. Best of all with total care, as long as your with any car it can be used, so if a mates or family members car brakes down they will come out/tow it free of charge. Honestly I reckon I used mine last year at least 20 times, anything needed to be done to the car, I'd just tow it.

nah thats with the base cover (roadside) for $137, then it's only for your car etc. Total care for $197 is the first 100 Kms, which I believe is far enough to get you out of trouble or to your tuner haha. http://www.racv.com.au/wps/wcm/conne...on+of+packages (http://www.racv.com.au/wps/wcm/connect/Internet/Primary/roadside+assistance/car/comparison+of+packages) Roadside care is $137 Extra care is $143 Total care is $197

It is to much fuel by the plugs and a stuffed fuel pump will give u less pressure not more. And the factory fuel regulator might be stuffed just something to try see if that helps.

gonna go get an ICE 4100 coil from ICE themselves tommorow, try out a new type of plugs, mine could be int he wrong temp range maybe :S then ill take it quickly to get the new exhuast, and tow it thanks to my new RACV total care to AVO and hopefully get it all sorted, add my malpassi too for piece of mind Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Spoken to Justin down at JJM TurboWorld, which is the new AVO shop in Hallam, what a nice bloke he is. Even though he was busy, took a good 20min out of his day, to have a chat, talk about options and different ways i could go to get what im after. They also make custom exhausts which was good to hear. Might be a little pricier then others, but talking to someone whos just as interested in your car as you are is good enough for me.

They know what going on there mate, they do all my work. I didnt ever seem to have much love from the ICE ignitions gear. I went for the M and W stuff, more expensive but the one I have now is insane.

Yeah was very impressed man, love your car too by the way. Getting him to custom fab me a new dump pipe to get a little more out of the old girl, found a 3" catback exhaust for $100. Free highflow cat off a cousin, so definantly can justify getting one custom made. The ICE shop was only literally 3 minutes drive from my house, so was a quick attempt at a band aid fix. I like it tho none the less, looks cool, feels nice and solid, and you get to pic your color too which is always good Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
