Yep, NZ EVLHSV is the man for wheels and suspension. 15x9s really aren't an issue on a VL Jason, but there is an additional measurement of where they sit on the axle flange ("offset") where can be unsuitable for your ride height/guards/suspension components.

Mate sell them and get the same wheels in a 15 by 7 inch with 5 inch backspace they fit perfect on the back with no mods not even rolling the guards I had them on my car

Ring Low Down guard rolling. Worst case scenario there's a hairline crack on the underside where it rolls around which you cant see any way. This guy says he almost never gets any paint damage when doing it. Will save you hundreds and hundreds going to all the effort of shortening the diff.

+1 for rolling guards. I've made quite a few diffs ranging from V8 supercars, turning standard diffs into full floaters and making borg warners to fit toranas/early commo's. It will be cost prohibitive(a waste of money) shortening the housing and axles by 20mm when all you have to do is roll the guards or buy the correct offset wheels.

Why 15x9's for 225s? you can fit 245's on standard 15x7 inch cepters with rolled guards (as long as your car isnt lowered they have a power buldge even arnie would be proud of Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Here is a picture I drew of the shortening axles scenario that explains why it won't make a difference.

not sure if this has been said or not but std axles cant be resplined unless 80-100mm is taken out of them! obviously ud need mini tubs for that! im looking into shortening my diff to fit a set of convos + fat rubber under mine, convos dont come in the correct offset to suit commodores unless u dont want dish, but why the heck wouldnt u want dish! final drive engineering (WA) quote $300 to cut down the housing around the 25 - 35mm mark! also u have to give them a BARE housing, then ud need axles to suit, 31spline another $900 plus put ur centre back in/reset back lash etc so another cpl hundred $$$ not a cheap exercise just to have the desired look but then u have a fully built diff! not considering if u already have 28spline axles u could always sell them to regain some $$$
