calculated 440 horses and it's smaller than a stock XR6T version.
here's larger version as a rough guide that makes 600+

13-09-11, 15:32 GMT+10#22 Hello all,
its been an interesting read so far, im not really fussed about L x W, but rather the Required thickness, to have an efficient cooler, if we look at the likes of 'PANNIC' the car ran an 8.94 on a smallish cooler, by todays common standard. I mean, my unit will be painted black, so i dont care how 'big' it is, but rather how well it works.

13-09-11, 20:17 GMT+10#23 there theory behind intercoolers, anything airflow for performance engines for that matter, is all about engine effeciency.
There are different things to consider when purchasing an intercooler and unfortunately budget these days blinds many people.
There are quite a few main things to consider:
- intercooler air flow
- change in intake temps
- change in air speed
- pressure drop across the core
- end tank design and construction
There is plenty of reading on the internet to help you choose. The one I am making will hopefully have some flow bench testing done to help build my growing database on intercoolers because this is unfortunately another parts of the performance scene which see the "this intercooler supported xxxhp" and people believe its a good thing...it may be losing some 20-30hp, if not more, if a properly designed and fabricated cooler was selected. Not an easy to educate people on since there is a significant price difference in a chinese one compared to a custom one, but it depends if you want to do it right or do it cheap??? because unforunately the two dont go hand in hand.
I will never forget one of the best sayings I have heard,
Cheap, reliable, fast..............pick two LOL because all three dont go hand in hand

08-03-12, 13:44 GMT+10#25 mick the piping with a gtr core is a piece of piss , its even easier as u dont have to run a big degreed turn from the tanks as the tanks are curved already
we did one on the boys car not to long ago

08-03-12, 15:47 GMT+10#26 Ive seen quite a few cars using ebay coolers making near 1000hp, doubt it really makes a difference. GTR ones would be a good idea if they are cheap from jap wreckers and have the curved end tanks

yes they can be relocated, depends on how much you wana spend, or do some extra reasearch at the wreckers, and find flexable lines you can use on it from later model car, and change the dryer at the same time as you will need to for the newer gas along with all the orings

nothing is ever to hard l have put 4'' cooler pipes in a vl with no holes ef fans and a jpc manifold anything can be changed
