^Agreed. Every VL these days either has chasers or 20" Hsv copies. What's wrong with what you've got now?

Lol ok, you guys have convinced me. BTW, do any of you know how the power antenna stuff works, in particular the switch? My problem is when the stereo goes on the antenna goes up some of the way then back down again, from what I can assume its meant to cut the power to both wires when its at the required height, then power both to go up and only the one to go down, makes sense in my head Am I right or mad? If I am right what do you think the problem is? And more importantly, how can i fix without rewiring it all and using relays? Thanks guys Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Okay, here's a biggie. I'm gunna do the stereo in the VL, will probably get the JVC KD-R926BT, it seems alright, the bluetooth ****s me a bit but i may do something with that in the future. Anyway gunna go 6 1/2" splits on the front doors, in custom pods and i will try and make them fit in with the VL interior as much as possible. The rear is where I want your opinions, Option A, Speakers in the rear doors in custom pods also, thinking about smaller than the fronts Option B, Parcel shelf Option C, Both Option D, same as C but using 6x9 splits in the parcelshelf and chucking/selling the tweeters and using them as subs. Also any other ideas, about what would sound best, kinda interested in sound quality more so than SPL so not too concerned with subs but I still want punchy bass. Thanks guys.

I had a feeling you might have something to say about this, but don't worry, I have decided to do it one of two ways, first, make the pods so the speakers would be on the outside of the door trim anyway with only a couple of screw holes in it even running the wiring around the trim, or secondly, get some donor trims and butcher them, make it look real nice and get them retrimmed closest to factory i can. ---------- Post added 03-08-11 at 21:38 ---------- Quote: Originally Posted by zaksvl [View Post] dont touch the parcel shelf, its really rare to see a vl with it intact. ive never seen on.... my old turbos one was hacked to bits. Dont cut up immaculate berlina door trims It was rooted before i got it, in the end just to get the interior all together without chunks missing and cracks everywhere it was about 3 different colours so I just sprayed it all black, we wont discus the parcelshelf in that one tho. Ok guys, sort of an update i guess, servicing it tomorrow, got oil both filters plugs and leads for $110 so that's alright i reckon. Haven't changed anything yet really, just replaced the antenna with an aftermarket one and bypassed the height control till i can find a new one nearby. So other than that it is exactly the same as my last post. ---------- Post added 26-08-11 at 16:29 ---------- So oil and filters have been done, so has coolant, just got plugs and leads to do tomorrow.

Ok guys, since I haven't posted a picture in a month I thought I would do a bit of an update. Did bonnet struts, have a before and a few after pics, don't hate me for drilling new holes, I could only get hold of vs struts, the vl ones were stuffed and I couldn't stand it being as low as when they are in the original holes. Before: After And yes, I need a new coolant bottle. Not time for the ugly, all the problems with my car, first the guard, it just needs a respray so it isn't too bad: Then the door and dogleg, this is pretty bad, don't know if its too clear in the photo but I will need to beat this one out: And the tear in the passenger door trim: A bit of rust under the windscreen: And to finish on a bit of a high note, the original 23 year old window:
