If the guy was up front with you I would be more inclined to buy it... for the right price Ive seen some really top notch repairs using all genuine replacement parts with the car on an auto robot / car o liner (got knocked back as they said it was a reshell it was that good) BUT ive seen some hack jobs, bog in the chassis rails, tek screws holding panels on, holes elongated to get decent panel gaps, sound deadner covering up all the sins

Just wondering if anyone thinks its worth purchasing the car, the car is only really 2-3g cheaper to others with its kms. Car doest need VIV or anything, but was wondering if its worth taking the risk. How strict are VIV inspections? He hasnt even mentioned it to me that the car has been crashed before, so Ill probably go there with even less then asking price, but more concerned on whether the car would be safe or not. Ill be visiting the bloke with a mechanic. only 'probably'........... the car will always be much harder to sell than another that isn't on the register, do you really want that ?? a mate bought a good one owner with books VX SS for $4200 recently with very minor non collision damage to two of the doors V8's like an SS are nice cars but chew the fuel, are a dime a dozen and are very hard to sell. Adding on being on the register makes it a 'no go' The seller didn't tell you it was on the register because he hopes you won't check...........he's dodgy!! Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

A family friend brought a smashed VX Monaro many years ago from the Auctions for a ridiculous price and had it repaired properly by a friend whos a panel beater. Car was stripped back to the firewall and everything was replaced back to the way it came out of the factory. Car would still take water in the passenger foot well and couldn't work out where it was getting in from. Also car will always have a VIV on it and will make it hard to sell. IMO its not worth it even if it has been repaired properly.

anyone will tell you owning a car that has been in a serious accident is a big mistake. NO CAR is ever the same after a serious accident

The wrecker wouldn't have bought it for $2000 or $3000.
