Why lower it? It's fine how it is for now imo. Ive driven straight past cops on numerous accounts and not seen any lights flashing.

Yea, when I get off my p's I'll lower it as I'd get less hassle. But I don't want the trouble, I've already had a couple canaries on m previous calais' and I don't want to worry about it for this one. And yea the silver vls look good and thanks Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Not much has happened lately. Ive moved house and trying to save some money for a rainy day. I took out my headlights and cleaned the lenses and reflectors. My light has improved a sh!t load. All i did was go over the reflectors lightly with a microfibre cloth and cut and polished the lenses on both sides. I also put in 100w high beams as i now live in the bush and work late and the vision i was getting off the old 55w were ****. also when i bought the car, someone had put in some inline fuses for the highbeams, and after i put in the 100w, i was blowing 30a fuses and melting the wiring. So i thought if i cleaned the contacts from the headlights to the loom, and re-wire the fuse for highbeams, it might stop. it did . (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/210/img00061g.jpg/) Must have deleted my photos of the headlights . A couple of weeks ago I noticed my tyres were getting pretty low, so i thought id get some more, and in conversation told someone i work with that i was getting new tyres. he asked me if i wanted to sell my rims as they were, and i said not really, but for the right price everything is for sale. he made me an offer of $1100, so i snapped that up and decided to buy some vx gts'. I said to him, once i buy my new rims he can have the old ones. I found a set on here that are immaculate, near new tread, no rash, genuine etc. so i drove to melbourne to pick them up. I now need to lower the car :P (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/842/img0087lo.jpg/) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/403/img0088rp.jpg/) I also was having issues with my gearbox. it was crunching on cold shifts, so i thought id do a service on the box and while i was at it, i dropped the oil in the engine after running some engine treatment in it. (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/3/img0085yw.jpg/) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/341/img0090jm.jpg/) Thats it for now. I'm waiting to get off my p's and to buy a bf fpv off my dad so i can start putting a 5ltr in the calais. oh and i know my number paltes are a **** colour, ill be changing them soon. Edit: also forgot to add, when i was putting on the vx gts rims on the front, the centre cap was hitting the wheel bearing cap and kept popping off, so instead of getting spacers i had another thought. what i did was got an oxy torch and heated up some metal and melted the grooves on the back of the centre caps (you'll know what im talking about if you see the back of the centrecap), i then sanded them smooth and took a hammer to the wheel bearing cap just to make sure there wasnt any rises in it, i then refit the rims and they went on perfectly. So if anyone has this issue, try this fix Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Well I ended up moving the fuel lines back along the chassis rail, and wired it up. That wasn't so fun. But it came time for the first fire, turned the ignition on and my fuel pump primed, so I tried starting her and she started, first try at cranking within 3 seconds she started. I was so happy but that all came crashing down when about 20 seconds later we noticed the lifters weren't quitening down and had no oil up top. So shut the car off, and we tried to figure out why it wasn't pumping oil, and thought it was an electric pump (which it wasn't) we then got onto the mechanic asking why there was no oil pressure and he said the pump was probably fked. So we took it down there to get him to have a look and he said its fine, so the pickup must be blocked. Just my luck. Got back home and did a google on it, and everyone was saying you need to prime the pump by filling it with vasso or grease, we then looked at the pump and it was bone dry, so we put some oil in the filter and put some grease on the gears and put it back it, started it up and it was quieter but still no oil up top, I then re-read some threads and they were saying to pack the pump with grease. So for the last resort before replacing the pump we took it off one more time and packed it with grease, started it and it was fine. I finished off the wiring and mounted the ignition module, charcoal canister, map sensor and coil pack. There's still a few little bugs to iron out, but all in all I'm ecstatic! Now the fun is trying to get the engine number changed, and vicroads aren't being very nice about it. ---------- Post added 07-06-13 at 17:08 ---------- And it's so much better to drive now!
