Im sorry, but there is NO way they told you this information. 1. It doesnt make sense and is blatantly wrong, 2. They are against aftermarket computers because in being aftermarket they can later be tuned for the opposite effect ie making more power.
If you don't believe my original post you should just call up an engineer and they'll tell you the same thing I just did.

22-04-11, 12:03 GMT+10#23 Thanks for all your replys guys..
Morgz..i have spent alot of money trying to sort this car out for this test making sure filters are boxed in..airflow meters working propley...std computer...all vapor and lines checked and charchol cannister put back on...exhaust checked cat checked and new resignator put in so it will passes 90 dbs...
the RTA guys at the botany depo are very decent guys and yes they did tell me too use an after market computer..and yes i know the aftermarket computer is illegal and yes it spun me out when they said it but they also said that is the reason why there are so many aftermarket turbo cars forsale...
before the car even got in the door of the emissions room the sensors started going off and lights were flashing..the rta guy said the car is rich very rich thats why the sensors are going off..
we even disconnected the ex turnal fuel pump and ran with the intank pump only..though it is a larger intank pump and that is one of the problems while it failed i think as it is a 550hp intank pump (the ex 610hp pump is by passed) and the regulator may not be working right with the amount of fuel that is pushing into it..
and yes i have to enginneer helping me sort it out...Athol Mullen...in Newcastle..but it comes down to a good mechanic that knows these engines to fine tune and work it all out ill keep u posted..
thanks guys again
cheers VL2NV

29-04-11, 17:29 GMT+10#24 the only advice i could give to anyone doing a rb26 conversion or a similar one is to talk to an engineer first before u start it not near the end when u think it is all good to be engineered and u have done mods and spent f..k loads and the engineer says no u can have that or have done this or u have to do this change this..cause it is costing me thousands of dollars just to get this car ready just to pass emissions..thats before engineering

01-05-11, 12:16 GMT+10#26 Thanks IJD..Im a member on Skylines Australia forum and yer i have seen all Guilt Toys posts on emissions.. On that link one guy says to take the car to Matt (AKA HITMAN) well ive spoke to Matt and he is doing the work on my car not only so it can pass the emissions test but so i know that the motor is 100% and there is no fuel or vapor leaks.. the last thing i would want is this car to catch on fire or something due to not getting it checked out propley as the car is over fueling ..Matt from HITMAN knows the car has given me a price to supply and fix everything supply and tune the new HALTECH and he gets the car passed threw the emissions test 4 u.. i drop the car to him.. then pick it up..all done and done right..its a small price to pay to have my car sorted right and a lot less stressfull too..

03-05-11, 21:35 GMT+10#27 i know you said its now stock for emissions, but what did your engine have in the way of mods.
if it was to have a single turbo and pass emissions would this make it legal.

23-09-11, 19:25 GMT+10#28 slap dead stock rb30 in the car - pass the test easy . take motor out get the rebuild twin cam or single and then go see engeering guy with im240 test and motor done. he will take pic of the engine.
use the same block u took the car to epa for the rebuild
they take down the block number and chassis number
