Mate im not going to argue it, I have spoke to the guy who does mod plates locally here and he said it's a no go and also advised me to look it up on QLD Transports website. It can be found here under the "Queensland Code of Practice: Light Motor Vehicles" http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/Safety/Veh...fications.aspx (http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/Safety/Vehicle-standards-and-modifications/Vehicle-modifications/Light-vehicle-modifications.aspx) On Page 22. For reference they use the heaviest weight, so for a VL 1350kg. Either way, as you said I guess it pays to know the right people. What is everyone using for engine mounts? I have read so many conflicting stories on both CAE and CRS products.. mostly saying they are junk and required alot of modification to fit.

Thats true, If you follow the rule book no F-N way you will be able to pass this conversion by correct standards. (engine mounts) Mine are "Castle hill" and there good as far, not dodge and fit in well.

I was under the impression that the "engine size" for mod plating is a "recommendation" - ie, not a "must"...

Any news on this MSD starter? I'm up to bolting on starter, alternator etc. How did you go for extractors to clear? Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Thanks heaps guys that's a massive help and save me a few $$$$. So there's enough clearance with one of the MSD starters to fit pipes? If anyone has pics of one of the starters installed that would be awesome.

you don't a different starter motor or the reverse bell housing to make it fit and run your pipes. BUT this all depends if u want to keep your power steering, i ditched the power steering moved the rack over and it all fits fine Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

I put the manual rack in as I thought it might be the case. I ordered the MSD starter, it should be here by end of the week. I'll hopefully put it all in next week and fingers crossed it'll all go. I'm getting custom pipes made up so it should make it all easier again. Did you get 4 into 1's for yours or are you running tri y's?
