MarkZ sorry about the late reply, yea i just pulled it all down and and sand blaster'd it then its up to you if you want to paint it...looked good just nude with no paint but i wasn't happy with the inconsistancy in some patches so i just gave it a quick lick. a VHT high temp would be fine, if you go down the sandblasting path you'll see what i mean alot of paint isn't needed for a clean look. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

hey boys and girls just thought i'd throw up some pics of what was involved when i got my hand on my calais. Engine out...my starting point was alittle daunting but only having one owner since the showroom the 20 years or dirt and grime is understandable, the car drove well and was in good condition but "my clean" is alittle different than others Strip her down, both manifolds off, head off and sump off ready for prep'n the block for a clean and some paint Block all clean and painted along with a fresh paint for the sump and rocker cover Sump back on with new sump gasket, head back on with new head gasket, new water pump, new crank seal and plate, new rear main seal and plate and new engine mounts Time to clean up the inlet manifold, fully strip her down for a sandblast and paint, clean and paint fuel rail, clean injectors and replace new all fluid and air hoses Time for the new cam belt, cleaned and painted timing cover, new dizzy new alternator and rocker cover with new gasket Standard turbo to be bolted back on with new exhaust mainfold gasket and some clean restored and painted heat shields. Then for the Inlet manifold, new vac lines all new hoses, clamps, serviced the lume all the connectors which were old and brittle were replaced new and new leads and plugs Droped her back in the car along with all the required fluids, new power steering pump, new p/s resivour, new radiator, new coolant overflow bottle, new battery and all new fuses and relays (not necessary but i wanted to and could) Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

haha yea no dramas, its just a combination lock for the hand brake, meaning; you can't release the hand brake without the right combination. standard handle can be easily fitted. Happy you like the car...
