Yeah, well thats what I thought but both Vicroads and the police station who issued the fine have told me that P-platers get 12 points, and if you lose 5 in 12 months, then thats it. Whereas I havn't lost any points in a couple of years so I was told by both that I wouldn't be losing my license. I'll just be paying it, I've already changed the extractors back to a stock manifold, not long now until I'm on my full license anyway.

yep p-platers get 12 points over 3 yrs like everyone else but also must not lose 5 in any 12 month period, and its a rolling 12 months, witch means jan to dec, feb to jan, mar to feb, ect

Did you give the copper lip or something? It would add about 3kw.. the difference between a well maintained car and not so well maintained.

Nope, I was on my own and was completely cooperative, he was just a pr*ck. Made me get a roadworthy to get my defect off, which only consisted of an unsecured battery (I thought I put the bracket back on but apparently not), unoperative horn, pod filter and removal or relocation of tacho. And I work all week in a new job, so I can't really take any time off to get a roady, so now the cars booked in for Tuesday and the defect expired yesterday (I'm still waiting on a call back for a one week extension on the defect) so now I have no car and need to work around it. Not friggin happy, although on the upside, not being able to drive it has given me an excuse to finally get the car in primer.

Would get more power putting in octane booster and advancing your timing. I'd try and fight it. You say you're not fighting it because you're not losing your license. But, what happens the next time you get pulled over and you only have 1 point (?) left. Worth a try.

Honestly young bloke in a Hyundai Excel driving at 3am is going to get pulled over and at least bretho'd. Times you drive, where you drive etc contribute just as much to the car you drive. Its one of those risks you run to enjoy owning a nice car.

Yeah, but I mean unless I speed etc. In three months I won't lose a point, cars legal now, extractors are off, pod is off etc. They have no reason to nab me now.
