Today i got around to doing the Tailgate, didn't come out as good as i wanted and i was't happy with it, Moisture from the gun laded into the paint so it will be getting rubbed back and painted again next weekend........ Doesn't help when your air compressor is a small one but its doing alright....... just having to take a few brake's more often to let it keep the pressure up. Some parts came out really well and smooth...... Also this Tuesday ill be picking up my other Gauges to go on the Bonnet which are Oil Pressure and Water Temp both Autometer Pro Comp Liquid filled with Cups and lines........ Should look sexy on the bonnet Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Bit of an update on the Project....... Picked up my Gauges today Water Temp and Oil Pressure both liquid filled Autometer Pro-Comp so now i have all 3 to go on the bonnet. 3rd one being the Boost gauge. Also i got around to putting the new Oil Sump on and ran all the Oil lines for the Charger....... Shes almost ready to be dropped into the Ute, just got to wire a plug on the loom for the Dizzy and get some front brake lines that run in the bay. ---------- Post added 02-02-11 at 18:52 ---------- Anyway while the missers was on the comp i decided to mount my Coil........ as you will see in the pic's iv hidden it under that plastic thing just in front of the windscreen where the wiper motor goes, i drilled the hole so the coil lead will fit though nicely and sit neatly behind the motor...... Thanks Love for giving me a hand X O, So now the car is on all four wheels again, Tomorrow ill be going to get some brake lines and then the motor and box will be going in this weekend. Today i got the motor and box in, after so much **** assing around with flywheels and clutches to fit each other and the motor............ Night Mare but its done now. Surprisingly every thing went very well no dramas that set me back, gearbox slid on 1st go with the help of my wife sharp eye lining up the input shaft, managed to get the clutch Lined up in the centre with out using a clutch alignment tool, motor went in with out getting stuck on things and lined up in the right spot perfectly, the wife and I have the motor and box sitting in the car in 20 Min's, not too bad I think. Next will be the rest of the motor, mounting cooler, exhaust, gotta get a few more fittings for hoses, but its getting there now. And this is how she sit's............. Yer the car is getting there........ fired it up for the 1st time in 6 months after some hard searching for a plug for the dizzy, thanks to my misses she done alot of ringing around and managed to find a guy in QLD that had the oval plug i needed. So I got him to send it i received it on Thursday wired it up to my loom plugged it in and then it was ready to be turned ova......... It was turning ova but it was like it was out in the timing or the leads were wrong....... check the leads and sure enough they were on the wrong way, went to the battery and noticed it was stinking hot......... found that the earth cable to the – terminal and to the body was loose tightened that up and that fixed that problem........ now it was all good to try and start it....... Turned the key and ****ing broom................ she started 1st go , runs abit rough only coz it got a stock comp in it and i didn’t have the charger on as I’m getting it ready for a RWC but i was stoked that she fired up and runs on the 1st turn of the key. But after running it i could here like the top of the motor wasn’t getting any oil....... (alot of ticking) so got on to the net and did a bit of searching that night found out that the oil pump on V8’s all need to be primed manually so the next morning i get out in the shed made a funnel out of a paint container from a gun, a hose and a air line fitting. (See Pic) filled the oil pump up from the oils switch hole till it was ova flowing then i put the oil switch back in started the car back and it had oil pressure and the tick had started to go.......... big relief after that. lol My home made Oil pump pump filling tool. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
