some one told me once its an old rule relating to carbs and an open intake is a fire hazzard. anyway isnt a pod in the engine bay worse for power and economy if its not enclosed?

I looked into this a while back. http://epanote2.epa.vic.gov.au/EPA/p...$FILE/1031.pdf (http://epanote2.epa.vic.gov.au/EPA/publications.nsf/2f1c2625731746aa4a256ce90001cbb5/c90ec843f3bbbe8fca256d9f00181c59/$FILE/1031.pdf) From what I can see, a dry flow pod filter on an EFI car is ok (with or without airbox) as long as there are no other intake mods. Oiled filter is illegal regardless.
