03-09-10, 07:46 GMT+10#21 They are legal if they have the padding in the center, if its just bare metal then its illegal, this is my steering wheel, the center padding can be taken of and on and either way it looks great but i keep it on. Also i feel that it has a good grip to it.

03-09-10, 18:10 GMT+10#24 You pretty much need a VB-VL momo boss hub for about 60-80 bux, some cheaper ones might fit but the bolt pattern might be offset.

this is fitted with a vl momo boss kit from a very far gone flyer steering wheel (vk era.)
wheel set me back low 200's. it has some damage to the centre pad and the leather is wearing but it came up well with some TLC. the boss kit cost me 120 (with the flyer steering wheel which i sold for 150. so i came out ahead.)
consider this - to be legal in VIC you must have a padded centre and a collapsable bosskit. (noty solid, so if you crash and are thrown into it it will crumple hopefully before your head does.) autobarn only stocks a padded autotechnica and its pretty hard to find much else padded. ebay is the best source. you can easily pick up brand new replica steering wheels and a second hand centre pad. infact i see the hdt store has occasionally been selling new centrepads.
you can pick up a lotus 380mm momo wheel from china for like 300 NEW. and its dated early 90's / late 80's and 99% a hdt wheel. just change the horn button.

any hq - vl will work. vn/p will NOT.
you can get a momo on herte for about 100 new. just advertise a wanted thread for one they were popping up like hotcakes a few years ago but haven't seen any advertised recently. ebay for horn buttons or bosskits is a seller's market. prices are inflated.

genuine june 91 momo. i dunno about the diameter compared to the genuine hsv/hdt ones but it sure looks the same, just a different horn pad.

10-09-10, 14:56 GMT+10#30 Most HDT/HSV wheels were 380mm. There were also quite a few 365mm ones as well. I wouldn't bother with anything 350mm or smaller.
