the place that did this also dynoed my xf when i had it and come up 25kw less than maztech melbourne did about a month before hand so it wouldn't be far off, but when i do the next few things in a few weeks i will have to find a 1/4 strip for an ET as that is all that matters

i just picked up my set of ultra low springs lowered shocks and adjustable pahnard rod, so i will be doing that on the weekend hopefully, also have an lsd centre out of an ea to put in to it, i have ordered my new fuel rail, 30lb injectors and gfb atomic boost tap, have the 044 here also, so when the rail and injectors turn up it wil be going back to the tuners to see what i can get out of it. also if anyone has a nose cone in this colour they want to sell in good condition shoot me a pm as i'm finding it hard to get a decent one cheers brendon ---------- Post added 30-11-10 at 12:34 ---------- she is booked into the tuners for wednesday next week i just have to fit the rail and injectors before i take it there.

finished fitting the lsd in the old girl last night, aswell as ultra lows, monroe lowered shocks and nolathane pahnard rod, removed the rear mud flaps and tow bar. started on the front springs and shocks, hopefully that will be finished today, then i can start fitting the thermo fans, removing clutch fan, fitting my iridium plugs and 10mm leads. I have a new remapped computer on the way that should hopefully be here before it goes to the tuners on wednesday along with the new bosch Z32 afm.

another quick update got all the work done that i needed to do to get the car in to the tuners, was all going well.... until we started the car and smoked the shed out, upon further inspection found that the turbo decided it didn't want to live anymore and started pouring oil out the back housing, and the head gasket decided it would follow the turbo and fail aswell, so i have ordered a 1.3mm head gasket and arp head studs and now looking into a new turbo, i'm going to stick with the low mount setup, just need some idea's on what the best upgrade will be for the vehicle? any help on what others are upgrading to would be great. i will get some pics up tonight or tomorrow anyway

ok so here is where i am at with the vl. i decided if i have to pull it all apart i should do it half properly so here is the list of what it has being fitted at the moment head ported & polished and h/d springs 1.3mm acl head gasket wade 818 cam with roll master timming gear arp head stud t3 hiflow turbo z32 afm gfb atomic boost tee gfb 1:1 reg 044 fuel pump fuel rail suit o'ring injectors bosch 42lb injectors oil catch can in boot surge tank upgraded fuel lines prob more i just can't think of it at the moment. now all i need to work out is what computer to use, i have an e-tune computer here that is chipped to suit most of the parts i have, only it suits 36lb injectors and can't handle the z32 afm. it also isn't tunable through any kind of serial port. anyone have a suggestion on what computer to use i was thinking nistune but still not 100% sure. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

if you want to retain an afm i think nistune would be the only option, imo better of to piss off the afm and get a full aftermarket ecu.

i was going to but i want this one to be half legal as it's my daily driven work car, that is why i have upgraded the afm to a Z32

well as far as i'm aware then the nistune is the only ecu that will retain the afm, and they look standard Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

i found out my computer is going to be another 2 weeks away from being sent back to me, so i have decided to give the n/a bottom end some loving i have ordered a set of 30thou forged pistons and set of rods while the engine is out i will prob paint the engine bay plan on going morphius purple on the car so do the bay ready for that, also trying to find a 3 grand convertor for it while it is apart, i have a set of 4.11 gears for it but am still undecided if i am going to use them or not

got my head back from the engine builders yesterday, i would of thought that if they clearly try to charge me for "dissmantle and reassemble head", then it would be put back together? i mut be asking to much, to get what i pay for, because the rocker gear is in a box the cam isn't in it all they did was fit the new valves and springs? so i will do it my self tonight and deduct the $150 from there bill, on the bright side it has been ported and the lifter blocks machined to suit cam and the head machined to fit the bigger valves

been a long time thought i would give an update, all the fuel system was run and fitted tried to start the car finally and nothing, after a couple of weeks of **** arounds and trouble shooting found it was the new intank pump causing the trouble, fixed it up and finally got it started last night, will post up some new pics in a day or so

another update on the vl, after the first start up there was evidentley something wrong with her, re-done the timing about 34 times, checked the timing belt was right, checked all the components were correct on the nistune still running like **** and in limp home mode on computer as far as we could tell. tried a new Z32 AFM as thought it may be a faulty one, worked better on first start and idled well, but once turned off it wouldn't go again, got another Z32 tries again this time when disconnecting the plug off the AFM found that one of the wires had dropped out of the plug, so i replaced the plug with new one, started it up and was good as new, long story short the car goes and is in at the tuners getting fine tuned as we speak.
