The insurance company will defanately write it off the repair exceeds the market value of the car, They pay up to 70% on the claim. What you can do is tell them to come to the party at 70% and you have to cough up the 30% remainder and you will have your car fixed by a Panel Beater. They will authorise it if you come up with the remainder costs and theyn usually let you do it that way. I have done it before with a car, i smashed my VB in the front the car was a write off but because i loved it so much we came to the perfect altermatum, They paid and i paid the balance to the panel Beater and the car was good as gold. Maybe tell them if they can do it that way if you really love the car. it's worth a try Buddy. Good Luck.

Similar thing happened to me, 4 car pile up my car hit in front and back, it was a economical write off, it was a VL SL, got $2600-$200 to buy the car back and the rest put into repairs from mates and mocking it up as a Calais.

considering i just spent almost 2.5 grand on brakes/suspension i thinks its worth buying back for what ever money they want, still haven't heard anything from the insurance company, sitting in my front yard under a cover, will let yous know of any updates, pretty certain i'll rebuild a shell tho, just give it some time, i miss it already Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
