14-06-10, 06:29 GMT+10#21 220-250rwkw and some diff gears would probably be enough to keep up on the free way, but as Morgz said traction will be your biggest problem from the get go
That sort of power can be made with a big $$ stroker motor, or fairly easily by supercharging a stock 304

I actually refer to my car as a sh|theap as well, though not to invoke praise, i perfer when no fuss is made about it at all.
Not 100% sure why you want to beat an LS3 HSV in particular, does someone you know have one and you have to be the bigger man? or was it just a point of reference where you think that sort of car is fast? Either way the LS3 HSV's do go extremely well and even if you get your gearing and tyres right you're gonna struggle without a substantial increase in hp, depending on the combo configuration id be thinking 300rwhp as a minimum.

20-06-10, 13:20 GMT+10#28 i say a ve clubby for 2 reasons. a coz yeh i have a mate wit one and b. as a reference like you say because i like them to drive.
but i think realistically i will just wait until end of the year and start throwin money at it then. i like the idea of a turbo 8. but i like the idea of a n/a Stroker too.. so i will be doing as much research as i can on both, either way i go, it will be a weekend warrior and a strip car.
one more qestion for anyone that knows more info... i know this has been covered before but i just want straight out answers. i have a 6spd from a vy ss, what parts do i need to bolt it behind the 5L block?
thanks
