my gauge doesnt work, i fill up every 200kms and only lets in around 35-40L, my car sculls it. i no 4sure there is extra petrol in the tank but for some reason it prolly doesnt it use it, fuel pump must be ****ed also when i fill up, the bowser clicks asif its full and gushes out alot of petrol but i can continue filling, its not the way or how deep i put the nozzle in, may be issue with breather hoses, any ideas?

I had the exact same problem with my calais and it was the in tank pump took ages to figure it out was really annoyed at how simple the fix was, basically when i took the sender/in tank pump out there is a short piece of hose that links the pump to the metal pipe that you see coming out the tank well in my case the hose was eaten away to nothing so pick up cant get the last 20lts or so out the tank it also wears out the high pressure pump as it has to suck the fuel rather than be primed by in tank pump . I also have the gushing out fuel problem im guessing it a blocked breather but havent bothered to look as i intend on putting a vn v8 tank in soon

For all you guys whose fuel gauges drop in and out all the time, its the connectors behind the cluster. Just take it out and squeeze them tighter on the bolts that hold the furl gauge there or a drop of solder will make it very accurate. The way they work is on resistance so of there is a crappy connection it effects them easily. Also only vl wagons have an actual in tank pump, sedans don't. I have the same problem with the last 10 litres of furl that I can't get cause of the crappy hose inside the tank. Got quoted 400 to fix it, so i chose to figure it out myself

Sedan do have the in tank pump as I had to change mine out plus the hose was eaten away on mine so couldn't get all fuel out it , I've made several ref to it in the fuel accuracy thread

mine was accurate, but i'd be tapping on the fuel guage when i wanted to find out!i know how easy it is to fix, but im a lazy pr!ck. i was getting 250-300k out of a tank. also, i think a lot fo you will find that there is probably a lot of sludge in the bottom of your tank, and the pump either wont suck it up, or it will, but the car will cough and stall as if its out of petrol anyway. this could also give you an inaccurate reading ;o

When I got the car my boyfriend an I replaced everything. New suspension, new fuel pumps, the usual leads and plugs, crank angel sensor, air flow meter, tyres, disc and pads. There was more but I can't remembeR.
