if the motor you have is healthy go the blower option.
a full stroker rebuild will blow your budget fairly quickly.
example- come 355 stroker kit- ~$2500
heads, ~2K
machining, assembly, 2K
there goes your budget, with no cam, manifolds, intake, exhaust, fuel system ect...

Motor isn't healthy. It's very tired n sluggish.
realistically, do i need to stroke to achieve a high 13 second 1/4 ?

capa do a V2 S-Trim second hand (reconditioned with warranty) for around $1500, honestly they are alright - not the best but beats a stocker I guess. Bolting it onto a standard 5ltr with an exhaust and around 10-12psi ud probably make 250rwkw with some 36lb injectors. The most expensive part of getting a cooler combo on there is the pipe work and honestly I wouldnt bother.

Sounds Like a good setup, however can u still achieve that sort of power without the piping and keeping standard manifold?

Yes
The standard manifold runs out of juice around 200rwkw with NA, but with forced induction it doesn't have a problem

How bout bottom end? Either way I wanna reco it so it's all fresh. Can I still use standard type pistons? Or do I have to deviate from the flat tops, how about cam selection / head work? Hi-stall?

for 6.5k ill build u a tuff 355 stroker useing scat crank and rods with a set of forged pistons which will see u around the 10-10.5comp, this includes all machine gaskets and awsome port job on the heads aswell as new seats guids and a 3 angle job, a cam of your choice aswell, new water pump and hi volume oil pump, i recomend getting a star perfomance inlet to keep the thing looking stock (at extra) or the come racing twin throttles....
last stroker i did made just under 300rwkw on a vn bt1 only difrence is it had rollers where i wont put them in unless u pay for them as theres that many brands out there now it your choice to supply,
pm me if interested
