Yeah finally made my mind up lol, I did already have the paint but I was a little unsure if I was going to actually do it that colour. It's going to be Calais White Gold with MX Grey bars and a red pinstripe. Will pretty much look like this... ...Although it will have mudflaps, whitewalls, roofracks, etc etc. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Mainly because I already had the paint and I really only want it to look OG, and like it's just rolled out of the factory. Later on down the track (When its not a daily), chances are I'll redo it again, pull it off the road and completely take my time on it. It's in primer now, this weekend coming I should be getting it in topcoat, and the following weekend, cut and polish.

I guess I just couldn't picture it cos I've only ever seen that colour on neglected and faded VLs, best of luck to you should turn out awesome.

Thanks bud, yeah I've only seen neglected and faded VL's in that colour too, but hopefully it'll look good all polished up. ---------- Post added 26-01-11 at 16:17 ---------- Car's coming off the road now to be done properly. Seeing as I had to get a roady to get a defect off, I've found way too much needs to be done. So I'm getting a new daily (another VL) and transferring all the good stuff from this one into the new daily, and then stripping this one down. Same colour, same plan's but I'm just going to do it all properly, no rush.

Update... Currently I'm stripping the engine out as the plan is to drop an 8 in it, no idea yet as to what but it will definately be something carbied, considering a Buick Straight-8 for something different. I'm also stripping all the red interior out and I'm going to be putting it into my Vaca'. I'm not sure what I want to replace it with, it will be red leather, but out of what? I'm not sure. Maybe Monaro as I only want two rear seats to make way for some tubs. I do need a red SL steering wheel and one red dash vent urgently before I put it in the Vaca'... Also reear headrests but that is a little less urgent. Anyway I'll keep you all posted.

Here's a quick pic of how its looking at the moment... ... Nearly finished stripping out all the red, I've found a small amount of rust around the rear window, as well as around the boot seal (which I already knew about). Due to that problem and the fact that it was hit in the back a while ago, I knocked it all out best I could but I can still notice it isn't straight, I'm thinking I might buy a rear half-cut and do a bit of a cut and shut, and just replace the whole back end. That way I can get mini-tubs etc done while its all apart. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Due to the fact that I'm currently looking for a 50's/60's custom or late 60's to mid 70's F100, I havn't really had time for this. I didn't want to get rid of it and so I've given it to my younger brother to use for his first car, it needs a bit of work but he's got 4 years. If he tires of it, or decides to sell it down the track I'll be buying it back.
