11-06-10, 20:16 GMT+10#21 Rusty, the anti-lag set up on my vl.
I had a switch to turn it on (not a clutch switch just normal toggle) but it wouldn't work till the revs were above 2,000rpm and it cut out at 6,000rpm.
As soon as the engine seen i think it was 4psi from memory it would deactivate to normal. It wasn't set very harsh at all but with the 1.06 housing on the gt35 the boost would go to about 0-1psi, but the difference it made at the track was massive.
In the 60ft was about .08 faster (did a 1.52) and it didn't bog between gear changes, from second to 3rd it gave a nice crack. boost must have dropped back under the 4 psi?
This is the video from full boost for those that havent seen it, but you will need to be a member to watch it..

11-06-10, 22:08 GMT+10#22 You could set it up so its not so harsh I guess (dont pull so much timing and not so much fuel)
Im only running a highflow t3/t4 270rwkw @ 19psi so lag arnt a big thing on gear changes I have full boost at 3200rpm.
Having a 2 step that builds a little boost would be perfect for me. But I might be tempted to have a play with anti lag.
The standard turbo manifold should be strong enough to withstand ALS?
My haltechs primary rev limitor is a fuel cut does that mean the secondary will be a fuel cut too? Will it build any boost on the aux limitor if its a fuel cut only or does it need to be ignition cut?

What ecu where you using? I can define what rpm anti lag will operate from say 2000rpm but what would you set for the throttle position?
How where you able to disable it if it saw more then 4psi?
A true anti lag system needs a throttle bypass valve to open when throttle is closed.

Yeh i had it on my wrx 8 yrs ago, running of the aux and got a little switch with a little rod of metal coming out of it , mounted under dash, so it engaged when clutch was slighly depressed, and a toggle switch to arm it.
(switch was from jaycar)
cheers

Yeah itd withstand it alot better then a stainless manifold thats for sure.[COLOR="Silver"]

I'm using a Autronic SM4, i will have to talk to tuner about the rest as im not sure as to how he's done it..
He was using the throttle body as the bypass if that makes sense? which is why i could vary the rpm of antilag, instead of having a preset rpm of what the 'bypass' valve would flow.

Any more info??
Who runs a ignition cut rev limitor?

15-06-10, 19:32 GMT+10#29 Does it cut spark all together (hard cut)?

25-06-10, 20:26 GMT+10#30 Had the time today to wire up the 2 step limiter. Set it to 3k rpm and fuel cut and it built around 2 or 3 psi after a sec boncing off it. Then set it to ignition cut and it made around the same boost but it felt alot quicker limitor that held the revs more and builds boost a little faster, but made my rpm go crazy on my dash (Guessing its because its cuting spark) Also there where some pops, bangs and impressive 2.5ft flames out the exhaust lol.
Tested it on 4k rpm aux limit and it built more boost around 5-6psi.
The ecu Im using only has the option of either complete (hard) ignition cut or complete fuel cut.
Been searching on line as to which one is safer to use for the engine but get mixed answers?? Fuel cut can cause lean outs ignition cut can hurt valves/turbo??
Exhaust is straight through with no cat?? Does everyone run ignition cut with after market ecu's??

Hey rusty, interested to see if you have been doing some more 'testing' & if you found out more info on either ignition or fuel cut & which is the more desired
