The conditions weren't suited to cars going quick friday night, 9 degrees, track temp 13 degrees and 96% humidity, the cars were basically trying to burn more water than air!!! Once they finish the updates needed on the car after going so quick, they'll be out going quicker....

19-06-10, 23:31 GMT+10#27 Good effort guys. Better beleive it, these BA's are the next VL turbo.... Once again the boosted 6 cylinder combination from the factory has spawned another cult car. I wonder how long before someone does the unthinkable and puts the 4.0T in a VL? Or has it been done?

20-06-10, 04:05 GMT+10#28 Theres nothing that the 4 litre can do better than the RB30 on the racetrack - if u really wanted more torque u'd step up to a forced V8 imo.

20-06-10, 13:14 GMT+10#29 i was going to put a falcon t6 in my vl, but decided against it. bigger heavier and longer engine. would upset the handling and i think the rb30 can push higher numbers and more boost on a stock bottom end?
but once i get my license back i'll be getting into an xr6t for sure. insurance is the main killer

20-06-10, 20:33 GMT+10#32 Yeah I just did a couple online qoute's. Ranged from 1,500 - 2,700 for a year. What a rip. And they only cover up to $15,000 for an 03 auto. My mate pay's $1,000 through elders and his 24. His mrs pays $500 cause she's 27. They both have a white 03 xr6t each lol.
And on topic. Who else reckon's the gtech boys could have the first 7sec xr6t?

Wait a couple of years and the new p-platers will be having these, debadged, black cooler ect pushing over 300kw just with a tune, injectors and removing the centre muffler

20-06-10, 21:41 GMT+10#35 I was quoted $1500 perfect record, no accidents, no loss of licence, and im 29.
the cheaper the car is getting the more expensive the insurance is.
When i bought the car 4 years ago, i only paid $1200. its worth half that and im paying more.... once cars hit the sub 20K price point, they are affordable by the younger drivers, claims on the model vehicle go up, thus so do premiums.

20-06-10, 21:42 GMT+10#36 Being in Melbourne must be the difference. The $2,700 was putting down 1 loss of license and 1 claim with aami. Then noticed they only got for past 3 years and none of them will count by the time I have my license back. So again through aami $1,500. Fair wack of a difference for the same company. Car thefts here in wodonga are not that common really.
And there already is p platers getting around with these debadged lol. Few years ago a guy here was on his p's with a turbo ute. Got caught so the. He drove without p plates lol.
