Best bet is to have it dyno tune. It will save you all of the heart ache trying to figure out what it is. Plus it might only take them less than a hour to diagnose the problem. Might cost you a couple of hundred but at least they find out the problem and they can dyno tune your car to maximum performance or better fuel economy. Choice is yours.

When I think about it, it might be your internal fuel pump(low pressure). Can you hear the fuel pump prime?

Faulty fuel pump will not cause it to run rich. You may have an injector stuck open. Injectors do not like to be sitting unused for long periods of time. If its been sitting for a couple of months, the injectors could be gummed up.

Also petrol acts as a lubricant to your cylinders & rings. You also might have blocked injectors(blocked injectors can cause ring wear). If your going to do a rebuild have your injectors cleaned at a injector shop. That's what I originally thought. Because doesn't fuel act as a seal?

Well if MonstaS4 read back a few reply's he would've seen what I said. That's why I brought it forward.

is it possible to clean injectors myself? or should i take them to someone. i may clean them first to try and avoid doing a rebuild for now. so a blocked injector would make it run rich??

Read carefully.......i didn't say you have blocked injector.......i said you may have an injector stuck open. In hindsight though, if its jammed open it will squirt so much fuel into the cylinder that it could hydraulic lock the motor, so that may not be the issue. Wouldn't hurt to get them cleaned though. They need to be done in an ultrasonic bath to clean properly.
