That's clearly within there guidelines mate...
My previous post is stright off the vicroads site, no bullshit, enough with these heroes who think they know it all, simply go on vicroads and read and understand what THE LAW states
it also states that the car has to be classed to them as a family car, which a vl turbo is not classed as

A family car has four doors.
A sports vehicle has two.
A vl commodore obviously has four and no matter what stereotype, no matter who says what, no matter about 'the majority of people' they fall into the "lower powered supercharged and turbocharged" category, along with having four doors.
I'm only following the rules that have been stated on the vicroads site.

All i know is that if you got ur P's before june or july 2007 then you are under the power/weight restriction if you got p's after then you are under that restriction + restricted to drive any turbocharged or supercharged engines or any v8s at all...unless you get exceptions or u drive a turbo diesel.. correct me if i am wrong

A Family car isn't turbo, a Turbo'd car or a Supercharged car or even a V8 is a Performance car, Dont bother trying to fight vicroads based on the engine being in a Family Car the engine itself is Performance.. Why do you think Vicroads went as far as saying, P Platers cant do modifications to vehicles.. They knew if they were to allow vehicles that were forced induction people would alter performance by 2x/3x the amount.
A Sports car doesn't have 2 doors its just more inclined too, ie. R32/R33/R34/A31 Cefiro, ALL 4door RB20/RB25's exact same as the 2door just has 2 extra doors.. So you think VicRoads will be dumb enough to say "Well its a 4door so its a Family car, Lets exempt it".

Yes mate, they will exempt it. One of my very close mates just got his exempted because it was following their guidelines. I know it's a performance car, but it falls into the "lower powered" category that's on their site. Research before you make comments like that. I'm talking from experience, as one of my closest mates just got exempted, and I'm talking of the law that is stated on their site.

How did he get the R32 exempted?
If you have the experience thats fine, im sure everybody in Victoria would like to know the secret to getting 4door turbo cars exempted.
From what is listed from Vicroads you can only be exempted by 2 Possible ways, and i cant see a R32 4door passing off on either of them, but you may know how its done so let us know

then why was the vp v8 commodore counted as australias quickest family sedan at the time? so in a period of 18 years a car magicaly changed from a 'family sedan' to a performance car..

I understand what your saying, but from the Vicroads point of view put a V8 or turbo into any Chasis of vehicle and its no longer a family car, Its even documented along the lines, So the VP V8 may of been classed as a "Family Sedan" purely based on it being able to fit 5 people but i bet if you look thru the paper work there will be a few references to Sports model/car in there somewhere.
