I know it has 100% NOTHING to do with racing and setting times.. but why do all drag cars have mega fail offset..

I'll go out on a limb here and say my personal opinion is that no V6 stock block in the world will handle the power needed to run 5's, I'd expect when we get that far to see a full billet block VQ. Standard factory cast alumnium just doesn't have the structual integrity needed to stay together. Happy to be proven wrong tho! 6BOOST

what's 220mph good for??

Depends on the car and setup, few turbo sport compact cars use their power as well as say a pro stock car, which they run 6.1's with around that mph. I doubt any sport compact car will ever run faster than 6.3's, and the very very best a 6.2, but I'd be expecting mph figures in the high 240's to 250's to run a 5. 6BOOST

im guessing these are bennys times in the scion Benny bray, 6.75@200 with 1.06 60 spotted them on aus rotor 6boost if the celica went 220mph there must be a 5.99 time slip for it ?

Why?? Because it went 6.42@216?? It'll take a bucketload more mph than 4 to get a 5.99, a doorslammer runs in the 250's to get a 5, and mountain motor pro stock haven't run a 5 yet and are in the 240's at the head of the pack. I think they'll need another 800-1000hp over what they are makiing now to run a 5. As for the hurricane, I think you'll find once he started running well, he was basically told here's your car, you mostly know how to tune and race it, now you figure it out from here. Its hardly like GAS are going to help it go faster than their own car, hopefully he gets the right people on board and stays at the front of the pack, I respect people that race at the top in a self funded car. 6BOOST

welcome to the real world....they run a business and that means coming up with the $$$$'s every single time. Just have a look at some of the well known cars and who is working on them at meets, it certainly isn't the big name shop owners.

...a bit like a qld tuner who spends some seriosu time in NSW Even Pac have had help from some a v8 team with clutch/chassis setup, but they have said it didn't do anything. There is nothing like doing it yourself, even though it may be figuring it out the wrong way, but hey, at least you can say you have done it all....this turns into more $$$'s since the claim to fame is all your own and you keep it all to yourself *insert evil laugh*

im wont use anyone as an example, but all you have to do is sit back and look at the ones smiling at the track.....they are just rubbing their hands together knowing that come Monday when the car gets back to the shop, there will be a nice little quote waiting for the owner and....mates rates, yeah good luck anyway, back to gas, you cant knock them, they are doing what no-else is at the moment and that is putting the numbers on the boards and with something lie 5 or 6 cars....they deserve a fair pat on the back for that

i agree they do get a pat on the back BUT what are they doing?? there selling a product that has already been proven and putting the majority of there product into an already proven chassis, i really do enjoy watching there cars but i can see why all the old school compak and jambo fans are crying..but i do want to see gas run a 5 in the celica

I personally can not wait. Also the 4 Litre Toyota V6 out of the Hilux is apparently going to be the engine which Toyota will be playing with for their new Supra, interesting times ahead.

i actually considered using the hilux v6 in my car, but the sound of a v6 in a vl just doesnt sound right. i know they are one tough engine, just personal preference....and im not shooting for 1000+hp
