Be proud and get a car thats actually built buy australians, not sold buy them, sure its got the jap motor but its built here.... i got the same dilemas but man, i got a kid (with my ex), a mrs who froths imports and the need to have a work ute......hence why i have 3 cars, my VLT, a 3grand 180sx drift car and a VS ute. lol my VS ute is a mad daily, auto V8 so effortless to drive but it doesnt handle. The 180 gets abused like it should... My VL is a bit of pig, $700 exedy clutch, big cam which makes it pig root and jump at anything below 2G, etc etc its given me endless headaches, sleepless nights in the shed and a empty wallet but its ****n awesome, smokes WRX's, imports, V8 commies makes anyone **** whos never been in it before had it for 5yrs. They are bordering onto classics too, will be the next torana before too long i think. My VL is still my favourite out of all my cars THE END dont buy an asshole.

I think alot would come down to your life style. Do you do alot of driving, do you have a kids, do you like cruising etc. I dont think anyone could really tell you unless they know you personally. For me, love to drive, i use my car to get to work, and boot around on the weekend, i have no kids etc. So by not having all the luxeries it doesnt bother me, in the 70 it has pig suspension, get the friggen thing airbourne, doesnt bother me though. Im happy with that and my vl. If i was you, and had kids or what ever, just get your suspension done to smooth out the ride, tint the windows, get your aircon icey cold. You would have power steering and electric windows, chuck some comfy seats in it. What more could you want.

mick, mate, was a battle trying to understand which side your on. like i said, i cant afford to run 2 cars, but im not on the roads to make a v8 or any import get humiliated. i dont know what keeps pulling me back to VL's. ekul, i get wat you mean. i want something i can slowly do up. i got 4.5 years before I can drive any v8 or super 6/turbo. I love cruising with mates, and the music blaring in the background. but what im trying to get here with, is it worth sticking with the VL scene? I mean the cars are beautiful for what they are, but they can only satisfy you to a certain ammount. Although i havent owned a calais or turbo. I dont know, So far its tipping more towards a newer car I guess.

Well if you cant drive a turbo or 8, either go buy a newer car, drive it around for those 5 years, alot can change by then, just put 100 a way each week or so, then buy the time you can drive one, then decide on what scene you want to go with and buy a monster of a car. Or Get yourself a vl, respray it, build a really nice n/a.

if you cant drive a vlt dont bither buying a vl go something newer, however if you can def. go the vl I got over vl's then bought a 200sx, had it for 3 weeks then wanted a vl then got over em again, and got a skyline had it for less then 3 weeks and back into vls Then had to buy something abit better for work, so bought an 04 audi 1.8t, great car but got over driving something gutless with no character and the 4k bill for the auto, so...back into vls. what im tryna say is if you love vls, youll always go back to one, always
