It's much better to go through a broker, let them do the fighting for you. Also better to try to get your family to all go through one broker because they have more to loose if you go elsewhere

how much do you end up paying a broker to sort it all out?

The insurance company give the brokers rebates based on the amount of business the broker gives them, so you don't pay any extra. If anything the broker negotiates a better deal on your behalf

clubAuto, I've had a quote from both them and NAC, (just online quote so i punched in $12k), from memory they both quoted around $1500/year full cover. cant remember the excess though. For comparison, I'm 20, been driving for 5 years, had my full for a bit over 3 years i think, only had a couple of speeding tickets.

Pays to be honest,If you do not disclose any speeding tickets or accidents they have a loop hole(to not pay)Also remember it is what car is worth,Not what it cost you to build.

10 - 12g Kris pretty much gave away the old RIPV8S for I think it was 11g in the end ? That was awhile ago now. Pretty hard to know what people are willing to pay for a 20+ modified car but you could be cheeky and put it on TM for 15g ono and see what bites you get
