27-11-09, 15:52 GMT+10#23 Have you had it up on a hoist ? If it's been anywhere near the salt water I'd be worried VLs rust pretty good without the help of cowpoo or saltwater !!

28-11-09, 06:05 GMT+10#24 yeah dude , ive seen it up on the hoist a couple of times , thats why i had to get a new exhaust , the last one had 3-4 holes in it and had back fired numerous times i guess LOL
but its underneath aint to bad , nothing seems to be to bad with rust except for the boot that use to be orange. but thats sorta fixed for now.
one thing that did stand out was the driveshaft and the diff , they just looked abused and old and the sway bars too.
but yeah i dont know :S would need you guys to look at !!

11-12-09, 13:43 GMT+10#34 its easy as dude, take off the window winder handle (its held on by a circlip so you'll need a couple of flat bladed screwdrivers - one on each side - to flick it off). just be patient and gentle, otherwise you'll break the handle.
then there's 2 screw holding the armrest on, take those out then swing the armrest around 90 degrees or so (I think) and it'll come out of the top (don't know how to explain it but you'll figure it out easy enough. and once it's out you'll see how to put it back in.
then see that black trim thing around the lock? flick that from the top or the bottom (not from the side), again be very gentle.
I think from memory the black panel (on the inside of the door where the mirror adjuster thingy is) has to come off, I think you just flick that off with a flat-blade screwdrive (just check tho, I can't remember if there's screws holding it, but i don't think there is).
and then, working from the bottom of the door card, start pulling it away from the door (it's held on by those clip things that should just pop out). I would use my fingers for this (not a screwdriver coz you don't wanna scratch the paint).
once those clips are all popped out, lift the panel straight up so that the top bit (which sits up agains the glass) lifts out.
I think that's about it (I'm writing this from memory as I'm at work at the mo). So someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
The main thing is to have patience, the VL's plastic is very brittle as I have found out a number of times

14-12-09, 06:07 GMT+10#37 Nice good work man. Pulling the interior apart looks hard at first (for me it did anyway coz I always seem to break stuff in the process), but I managed to pull my whole dash apart the other day (to put some new front speakers in and rip all my heater/fan/ducts out) without breaking anything (even the air vents - although I have broken 1 of the air vents before, trying to figure how to get them out. the thrills of working on a VL!

09-04-10, 12:19 GMT+10#40 ok guys update time
ive bought a lock for my boot and for my passenger door since they needed to be replaced and put in , but however i need to get some keys cut for them , since at pick a part they leave the keys in the cars and they were no were to be seen , so ive got to get them sorted out .
anyways , theres something wrong with the car , randomly itll lose power and idle next to 0 , but when that happens my battery sorta dies , and i lose oil pressure ? i dont know what the cause is , but its something , plus my cars missing quite a bit , so any suggestions on spark plugs and spark plug leads ???
