I dont believe that figure of 151801 VLs includes the rare items. The SL VL EXECUTIVES and CALAIS including turbo models and also Berlinas make up that production figure going by the book.

That figure would be all the VL's including the HDT and HSV cars as well as dealer packs etc. as it was a figure from Holden as to what they would have either sold or built ('built' includes those cars mentioned below).
The only question would be whether or not the following were counted. The pilot vehilces (pre production test and evaluation), the spare parts body shells and some race car shells.

just to keep the info going .....it also looks like by the 6-86 they had run out of the remaining vk parts and started to use the late arriving vl parts that are referred to as series 2.can anyone give some credit to this info.

The first couple of Walkinshaws were finished off by HSV in the first week of Jan 88. These cars came out of Holden in Dec 87.

it'd include all hsv/hdt vl's as all these vl's left the holden plant before being sent to hdt or the sv department for completion / modification.
and yeah the walkinshaw figure you have there is way off. at that amount there would be more walkies than bt1s and calais! (assuming that the calais didn't make up more than a third of production which seems a justified assumption.)
