check out the vn in street commodores a while back. it was caled "drifty" and painted like a taxi. i believe its on the australian initial D forums. he pretty much took a stripped vn with chopped springs and a chopped interior and started drifting. also most of the drifters will tell you the most important thing is practice and you will definately crash the car more than once or twice. i would follow in his steps and just get out there. i looked into this a while back and even found a mad vn as a base but due to being supported through uni by my parents they still have some say in my use of finances so it pretty much stopped there (and im not going to use one of my nice cars on the track)

You want low profile and tyre stretch to drift that is unachievable on a 15in stocky unless you find like a 155/45/r15 and even if you did find this magical tyre it wouldn't provide enough grip to drift.

true if you can't afford 18's for the track...maintaining a race car will definitely blow the budget.

don't worry about all of the coilovers etc. first thing is first get it driveable and get out there and build it as you go slowly building it up. no need to spend 10g on coilovers and a custom irs setup right now. and not being able to experience the difference every mod makes you won't b able to appreciate them either.
