both braided hose and rubber hose will both leech vapour.
you need to use teflon lined braided hose to over come this. it is a different hose again to both those previous two mentioned.

Hey mate your going to struggle to crimp 70mm2 flex with pliers lol usually you use manual or hydraulic hand held crimpers to do this, I suppose a hammer and a cold chisel might work however i do not recommend this as you want as much surface area of the lug compressed onto the cable to stop hot spots and help current flow. My suggestion to you is if you dont know a mate that is a commercial / industrial electrician i would cut it to the right length take it into an electrical wholesalers and ask if you could quickly borrow a set of crimpers for 70mm2 cable. (literally a 5 minute job) Or you could buy a set handheld ones are about $300 and do up to 120s and handheld hydraulic ones are around $2.5k for a good set.
Cool I will make up the lengths I need and then get them crimped on, 70mm2 cable seems a bit overkill, alot of 50mm2 cable is rated to 300+amps and alot of 30mm2 cable is rated to 220+ amps, It doesnt make sense to me to use that heavy, But if its cheap enough may as well.
hey guys, i am relocating the battery into the Boot of my VH, i was under the impression that cables had to run through the cabin (through kick panel) as its a defect to have the cables under the body like that.
can someone correct me if im wrong?
thanx in advance

I thought that was illegal to. What happens if you run over a large bump and tear or break or the lines?
Also is it legal to have a battery and fuel system in the boot?

Not too sure on whas legal and whats not, pretty sure the battery in the boot is legal if it is in a secured box and is vented, but i think the fuel system in the boot is not legal.
but really who has a legal VL turbo???

its like fking your sister even if you are wearing a condom its wrong
Some funny **** there ANK.
nice thread, i plan on cleaning up my boot like this, but i won't be bothered with relocating the battery etc.
Battery in boot is ok, ive got a sealed dry cell in my boot, dont want hydrogen fumes in the cabin now do we. That power cable is best off running thru the cabin, then out a hole in the firewall, if for some reason you drive over something and you bottom out on that cable, you risk a dead short directly to the body, or even worse if you tear that fuel line... you get the picture. good effort though
hey good write up...
just have a question.
with a surge tank setup do i need to run a different intake pump or does it need to be changed.
i will be using a bosch 044 fuel pump from the surge tank
Thanks mate for the reply, I have only just changed the fuel pump to a stock vl turbo intank pump, changed all that why i was there.

a couple of questions guys?
the bottom fitting on surge tank goes to my 044 pump.
Which goes where on the other three??
Cheers
Can some one help me with the fuel lines please?
Cheers Thanks guys

Been told this is the way, can anyone confirm?
cheers
so on the top is overflow (return to tank)
The one on the top at front would be inlet
One above the 044 at bottom would be return from rail
This is what your saying yeah mate?
very top one returns to the tank so the surge is always full. lower one is from the intank pump and the highest one is return line from the engine. least thats how i did mine
Hey mate
How did you set your relay up?
Did you set it up like this?
87 - To Fuel pump + ve
86 - To Earth on pump and body
85 - Purple wire that went to old pump
30 - Straight power ie, battery
and heres more of an update on mine!
The surge tank wouldn't fit up the back so had to mount there and im waiting on my fuel lines to come!
Cheers!
