Would my alarm stop it kicking over Like, My immobilizer or would it not crank over then?
My earth fromt he battery is 0 gauge also, but its to the body, not the motor. And the old earths, from the existing terminals, are bolted to the rail or motor not sure.
Also, how do i check for injector pulse?
Came home today and after a bit of playing around i realised i could get her to start, ONLY FOR A SECOND THOUGH when i dc'd and rc'd the coil.
changed the coil and the plug coming form the dizzy, still starting but only for a split second then she dies. Then she'll just sit their cranking. I also discovered if i leave it alone for 5-10min she'll start again for a second and die. Ran out of sun light, will try changing dizzy tomorrow.
Once again. how do i check for injector pulse? Think i ruled fusible links out i made temporary contacts between the fusible links. still no luck.
you need to earth the engine for earth to get to your coil make sure all the earths are clean and tight
earth the body to the engine and it should work
I have 3 earths on the motor bracket and 3 to the body.
I have 0 gauge positive runnign to the starer and the 0 gauge negative to the boot.
In the engine bay though, it seems one of the existing negative cables is now bolted under the watter intake bottle. Yes the paint is removed, and the other is bolted to the motor mounting bracket (block).
ummm....put a screwdriver in the end of 1 lead and hold it close to something metal around the engine bay if u have spark its gotta be something to do with the fuel side double check those fuseable links again (twist them and wiggle around)
ok will do, thanks man. Just hope its not raining tomorrow morning, want to play around before uni n work.
OK so i changed the entire dizzy today, had a brand new cap on it too.
Same story, will fire up for a second then die.
However, i jammed wires into the fusible links, went to start her n she fired up, BUT when i went to accelerate to keep from stalling there was a winding noise coming form the engine bay, what would this have been? Dodgy dizzy? With the wires jammed into fusible links, shes also cranking differently, like 1 second delays in between each crank.
So i changed the dizzy back to the old one, and this time when she went to fire, she was just popping (popping noise going through the exhaust) No winding noise though.
right..... take the top timing cover off and check if it all turns wen u hit the key to see if u have stripped teeth of ur timing belt it sounds that way by the way its cranking over..
btw have u checked ur timing all of it i reckon its out
getting another alternator wiring harness from gmh_jet, prob wont be here till end of next week though, stupid paypal.
I dunno if that would be the case champ, its brand new the timing belt. replaced last month with a **** load of other ****.
guys everyone is getting sidetracked from the original problem... the car worked fine... battery was located and now it dont start. battery location dont bust the EFI or the cas or the timing.. the problem lies between the batter and the ignition. look there and you will find it.. start at the ignition and check every wire and anything else you come across that you had moved or change during the battery relocation..it will be there. check each wire going to you battery and ignition with a multi meter the wire could have a split in it or anything. think outside the box or you'll never find it.

That would be your starter motor jammed on...

Why would my starter motor be jammed on on? Current going somewhere it shouldnt?

Generally whirring I had was when I had issues with my ignition barrel rotating too far constantly engaging the starter motor... But it is possible that it is something different for you.. However ifyou have been playing with the wires around there, I would check they havent crossed up somewhere.
Only wire's Ive touched, is jamming wires in between the fusible links to complete the circuit, in case any had blown.
only made this noise when the "new" dizzy fired the car up for a few seconds, but i let it stall because that noise scared me haha.
Getting it checked out on Sunday
It's mounted on the inner guard just behind the battery (or where the battery was in your case). I think it has a metal shell. It plugs into the loom that runs from the battery to the engine loom plug at the front of the inlet manifold.
I see, so it connected to the alternator / starter motor loom?
This bad boy?
I got a loom off ebay the other day, the one in the pic ^^
Ill check for power to that relay tomorrow morning, will i need to replace the actual relay itself too to complete the circuit again? If its broken that is
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
