i've had the light weight shock proof in my 33 box for 3 1/2 years and haven't had a problem. maybe it is only the mx7 that doesnt like this oil

my brother is using redline heavy in his supra box behind a 670rwhp 13b and has held up fine it engages gears better than with castrol vmx which he had in it previously... as for that guy that blew 2 boxes on redline they were prob gonna blow anyways dont blame the oil blame the nut behind the wheel... i kno thats what a lot of wrxs and pulsar turbos are using with better results than regular oil... are you saying those 2 boxes wouldnt have blown with any other oil in it??? i rest my case....

What ever oil you use its best to change it ever 10,000 Km if not before hand.

redline light is prob the best for skyline boxes, you can do a quick search on sau and they all recommend it as well as a few drift workshops and tuners. just dont think they go too well in the mx7 by the sounds of it ?

another update : after a few days changes feel noticably smoother, was crunching into fifth on the freeway, but 1st to 2nd feels better, downshifting is smooth as, so the syntrans may be helping after all. still feels like something is still spinning in the box when ive clutched in and go to change tho... Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Sorry Mr gearbox, perhaphs i should have been getting you to rebuild them? Not the gearbox company that were doing them for me? Or maybe i should ignor the advice from the oil shop? That only sells oils, just so happens to sell oil to all the V8 Super Car teams in the area, only never sells the redline he stocks? Maybe i shouldnt have been listening to the gear box guy that adds money to every repair or rebuild he does on a gearbox that has used the redline oil just for cleaning the oil out of the box? And maybe, I shouldnt keep running the syntrans oil anymore, cause as soon as I changed to it, i havent blown a gearbox since, and the box in it now is a second hand one from a guy that used to flog the arse out of the car with 320rwkw? You probably know better though

You probably know better though nice one gronk so wat ur sayin is syntrans make ur box unbreakable!! yeh that sounds great!!! i was speakin from personal experience as were u.. yeh u blew 2 boxes and a 3rd is still alive... go throw some slicks on it and tell me how long it lasts!! maybe you should tell ur secret to all the work shops that are spending money on r33 5 speed conversions that u kno about this magical oil that makes gearboxes unbreakable.... i had a wrx with half auto fluid and half 80w90 i thrashed the absolute crap out of it flat changing gears everyday for about 15000kms.. i didnt blow a box coz i got lucky... SO DID U!!

Get your facts straight before you start making out that your the oil specialist. I think you'll find he can probably can speak from very good experience. On many diffrent levels. I think you will find his car has worn slicks more than once and quite often hits more than just a straight line track... But just to throw something in the mix I use Valvoline. You know what i mean.
