Yet you drive around in one every day If you 'really' liked VLs you'd get one as a daily

Your pretty narrow minded Aaron, car companies that don't start looking at fuel efficiency now won't be around in the future. As stink as they sound a small turbo engine makes a lot of sense in this day and age

Just had a quick drive of the new TDV6 S. What an awesome motor! Streets ahead of the donk it is replacing. Not quite as quick as a 535d, but I'd take the Jag over the Beemer any day...

Most of them do sound poo, it's something manufacturers really need to work on. Unfortunately most people like quiet cars!! Some exceptions are a few Alfas, STI S204 and the odd EVO. Old Subarus had an interesting sound, but not any more... Most these things only really sound any good when the throttle is mashed into the firewall!

Agreed. Manufacturers are doing awesome things with small boosted motors. VWs twin charged 1.4 is great as is the GTI motor. Great power and economy. Still, no replacement for a V8 or blown six!
Spy pic borrowed from ls1.com.au...
Think I'll reserve judgement 'til I see one in the flesh. Didn't really like the E-series when I first saw it, now I love 'em!

I feel the same, thought VEs looked like **** when they came out, now some of them look really good.. HSV could come out with some seriously ugly **** now and we will all think it's great in 20 or whatever years time (Walkinshaw anyone?) just because it was so out of place and uncommon when it was released.

Actually, you're more narrow minded..
Yeah, this post contains alcohol.

haha lets not get into that Aaron
That new HSV looks bad, real bad. Take a classy looking Euro lookng body and add some holes, vents and a big wing And those farken rims, why can't they just go back to basics... look at VR Cluby, VT GTS, VX GTS, VZ Cluby, all awesome looking rims that were just plain 5 spoke style
VE HSV's looked awesome the first time I saw one

HSV's design boss is a guy by the name of Julian Quincey. Nuff said...
That pic of the SSV posted by Woggster is just a chop featuring taillights that look like they came off of the coupe 60 concept. There are no visual changes to Commodore this year, the engine upgrade is merely a running change. Tis only the HSVs getting a makeover.
The facelifted Commodore (VF) is scheduled for late 2010. Expect some of the design elements of the coupe 60 to feature...

A lot of people said that about the Walkinshaw when it first came out as well.As they say it is't the finished product. But fairly close. They are not too happy that the pic's are out there so soon.
Cheers Marty

Haha, the Walkinshaw, a.k.a, The Plastic Pig! You really cannot judge a car til you've seen it in the metal.
I think you'll find the pics are the real deal, the other pics I have seen have a little bit of camouflage, but the cars look like they are being unloaded at the photographic studio Holden uses in the Melbourne suburbs.
Lol, they wont be quite as unhappy as the time the aeroplane flew over Lang Lang (no fly zone!) and snapped the VE on the high speed ring just weeks before its release. September 9th is the date of the HSV reveal.

Yip Id agree with that, but the Walky didn't really have to look good and they only had to sell 500. The new HSV's have to appeal to the masses and are used generally as daily drivers. The average 50 year old guy who buys one for business and turn up to work/clients isnt going to be impressed with big holes in the bonnet
I suspect the Senator will come sans bonnet vents - hell, they might even only be available on the GTS. Remember these vents have appeared on GTOs and stuff before - didn't stop them selling. Rumour has it that there will be a lot of options/customisation available to really personalise your vehicle. I'm guessing something like HBD, it might even stretch to superchargers and stuff ex factory. Guess we'll just have to wait and see... LPG is a real possibility too.
