give it at least a week to shrink back even if u bake it in a oven just to make sure.

primer is not porous people thats why you can wet rub it!!!! and 24 hours is ideal for areas that might shrink bak,,but shrinkige is lack off perperation!!!!!!

yeh well restoring a car and repairing a guard is a diff story. as when a car is getting repaired in a panel shop for a guard its mainly rushed to get the job out. so leave primer for a least a week or u will regret it . and also if it was a new guard being put on why would you prime it there is no need when its a genuine new guard so u wouldnt have to wait 2 weeks for that.
