16-04-09, 18:11 GMT+10#21 putting it that close to the road is dangerous... **** on the road could damage by hitting it or anything.. i wouldve put mine in the 2nd pic place but just wanted to get my car running after rebuild so my dad got the cutter out and measured the afm and cut just before the dizzy and leads..
plus you have to extend that afm cord massively

16-04-09, 21:17 GMT+10#24 im lucky with mine putting it down the bottom cos my group A front goes under the car a fair way and cover the afm from getting hit by anything.

17-04-09, 05:23 GMT+10#26 If it was me I'd place the AFM as close as you can to the throttle body. Anyway myself I don't have one. I've heard the temperatures very and the closer the AFM is to the throttle body the better. It gives a more precise reading when it's closer.

I noticed this also, and I'm going to say his car was originally a V8. Batteries were located on the opposite side.
I personally think the AFM is best well out of site, so like your first picture.
But definately a water proof casing as a minimum, and perhaps a small shield.

17-04-09, 13:58 GMT+10#30 maybe his battery is on the other side because he has a supercharger and intercooler pipes where the battery usually sits.
