There is some more fee's involved with this website, this forum isn't a free one, and to keep it legit he'll have to pay a price, a fair big one, depending on what package thing he selected. Oh and for the web server provider to have PHP on this domain, it cost even more, PHP is what runs these forums and web server providers do have a way of charging people for it. There just a few extra fews invovled, there could be morwe. Just saying is all =]

Sorry guy's a forgot a </if> statement so registered users were seeing some extra ads. And as for site costs.. trust me it's A LOT more than $20 for the year I'd prefer company's paying for the server costs than users/members. sorry for any inconvenience.. Steve. Yeah i no the site would be more then $20 but to have the domain name as www.calaisturbo.com.au (http://www.calaisturbo.com.au) I hope you're not paying more then $20 a year I used to have one that was $10 a year. I don't mind vbulliten but would of gone with phpbb2 myself a lot cheaper. It's a good site any how. Who does most of the design? I used to run forums like this for downloads and stuff. That got pretty annoying with the legal side of things, so many disclaimers. And have you ever thought about putting a instant chat box in? We used to run one of them and it was pretty good. phpbb is ok, i used to run it on another site i ran, but it's not as stable or clean as vb especially when running big boards. And the vb community is a great thing. The paying membership gives you access to a whole heap of extra add-ons and there is a lot of help available if something goes wrong. There are constant security updates applied for free And updating is a simpler task than trying to update phpbb…. As for this site, it’s mainly managed by ‘platinum’ at netforge. Highly recommended Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Lol yeah the only problem with phpbb is updating. If you no how to run it then it's ok but it takes a while to get used to. and if you make a good skin for it, it looks real good. Let me know if you ever need some help with the forum. I used to be admin and mods of a lot of forums. Also the chat box? ever considered it. It can have its ups and downs

lol at this thread. members section is good. as said steve isn't on anyones back to pay renewal. yet if he asked i am sure everyone would be more than happy to pay. the site is a great format and easy to navigate. it also has a pretty good feeling of community at times and lots of helpful members. us members don't see any adds except for 1 banner at the top of the page. its pretty simple really. sirgeo needs to make money to pay for the site and wether he does make a profit or not who cares? everyone needs to put food on their table and keep a roof over their heads. in return for your expression of dedication to the site you get reduced adds when you register and even less adds when you become a member. if you are not really that dedicated to the site and the other users than its cool with me if you get popups.

I say more adds for non-members, and more adds for non fee paying members. Also no access to the tech section. What is $10?
