First noticeable things. It was far heaver then a VL Diff. The axles (being from a V8) are twice+ the size of the VL axles.
FYI, there is no such thing as a VR SS ute, SS utes were only introduced in VS series 3, it would have been a V8 s pac.
The axles are actually exatcly the same diamter as all vl turbo and vl v8 axles only slightly longer.
V8 S pac.. SS.. its still a fucken shithouse V8 commodore with one now missing a diff.
the guy had a V6 axle there and the V8 ones were bigger and i said bigger then VL axles, not VLT.
Interesting [T]Matty. I don't think this would suit everyone, given people have difficulty avoiding the guards with the narrower VL diffs.
Can you get us a photo of your car from behind now, to see how fat it looks?
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
vn onwards v6 and v8 axles are the same (including vlt vl v8) so whatever axle he showed you wasnt from the same diff.
all the cost and stuffing around with getting rim offsets changed your far better off with a vl diff.
youll have nothing but problems with that diff
wagon/ute diffs are different to sedan (shock mount being different) sayign that you can still use it, your shock will just be about 1.5" more extended than with the sedan diff due to the lower mount point of the wagon/ute shock mount
