mate has jaycar amps, he had mis mono go back twice and the 4ch once. i went to look at some and jaycar told me there were no warranties, i questioned them about poor build quality and they denied it. overall they are cheap and provide mass power, i think aust car audio magazine rated some of their amps as winners for bang for buck and overall performance in some categories a while back... but you do get what you pay for. seems a lot of them are duds HOWEVER after the first few months he hasn't had any further issues with the amps. its going well over the 2 year mark now. i would still hesitate to buy them without a very good warranty and would definately be questioning extended warranties.

After tonight, I am blaming the RCA cables themselves for the RCA terminals falling out. They just wrecked some RCA plugs on my $900 head unit! All Jaycar amps have a year warrenty as far as i know, even my "seconds" amps came with 3 months warranty. Quote: Originally Posted by pmac Nice box there dude. Pretty much, but your amp needs to be able to hold power at 2ohm stable or it will just go into protection mode. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

What amp are you running? Is it stable at 2ohms? Also, what sub model number? It's all in the wiring. So how it's setup for 2 ohms will depend on what resistance each sub's coils run at.

Yeah...the powerplants come in a few different models man. Are they single voice coil or dual? Heres the diagram for 2 DVC subs: DVC@2ohm (http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/ca/learningcenter/car/subwoofer_wiring/2DVC_2-ohm_mono.jpg) I can't find a diagram of 2 2ohm coils running at 2ohm load if you have SVC subs, but i'll try to explain how to wire it up: *Connect one coil of the sub to the amp terminals as normal. +(sub) to +(amp), -(sub) to -(amp) *Running a wire connecting the + on the other coil to the - on the same coil. This will effectively give you a 2ohm load.

the modle number is pp-sw12h if u could find out if i can run them this way that would be great thankx for all the help this is wat the book says use tw short pieces of speaker wire and like the positive from one coil to the positive of the sencond coil.and do the same for the negative as show in fig one" a opic of a sub with 2 lil bits of wireing running" then wire the amplifier to opposite sides of the subwoofer in order to equalise any connection resistance in english wtf dus that mean dus it mean like use to lile bit of wire link them on one side hook up the positive off the amp n on the other side of the amp use negitive insead of ringing them upnext to each other?????????? thank for the help

Yeah.. you have SVC subs according to that model number. Is your amp 1ohm stable? Or only 2ohm. With 2 SVC 2ohm subs, you wont be able to achieve a 2ohm load. You'll only be able to run at 1ohm or 4ohms.

Lots of blu-tack to see where I like the sound of the mid + tweeters. I think what I'll end up doing is having the tweets and mids at the base of the pillars pointing at the opposite head rest. Hopefully that should stage well and I'm sure it will be a more balanced EQ. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
