For the people in the outer eastern suburbs there is a servo in boronia, I have not confirmed this I just found it on a web site. For everyone else I found this site with locations all over Aust. Only a few have E85. http://envirofuel.com.au/find-fuel/ethanol/ Ill have a look on the way home, might fill the ute up with some BIO Diesel. You have to watch out for this as E85 is hydroscopic it absorbs water and moisture from the air.

if you want big power out of the e85 you will need 3 044's and 1600cc injecters at least then its set up and you dont have to stress

You should be expect to use double the fuel of 98 and anything less is a bonus. The new fuel set up is getting done atm. Walbro intank + VL turbo pump + surge + 2 x 044's to reg Don't forget the et streets. You boys are talking numbers that you can forget about traction on regular tyres. I agree with ANK. 3 x 044's and 1600's, jobs done. People rarely drove around on c16 because of cost. Now this stuff is available, it's cause for concern as to the power people can make on street driven cars. 8 second street driven VL's is no longer in the hands of the chosen few track cars. I actually find this disconcerting.

It's good to know you made 340kw from a single 044, i was starting to worry that my 2 x 044's wouldnt be enough if i made the switch to e85, i seriously doubt your estimate of double the amount of fuel is accurate. the 044 is generally concidered a 600hp pump (PULP, moderately effecient engine, etc etc) making it a 300hp pump on e85 going by your estimate, yet you made 460 hp at the wheels, (600ish engine hp?). i wanna make 450rwkw and go deep into the 9's on 98 before i make the switch though.

scrayride, my car is getting minitubbed to the rails, and will roll around on 325/50r15 et streets. i dont plan on using full slicks at the track unless i have to. anyone tried nitrous with e85? the jetting would need to flow 30-40% more on the enrichment side to cater for it wouldn't it?

I read up on 85 and said the same thing as you aZ. The tuner said it would use nearly 50% more. I filled the car at CREATD and drove home and re-filled. It took a 20ltr can and more than half of the next 20ltr can. I said 28 to be conservative.I couldn't believe it cause the drive was only about 110-115k. That was cruising on the freeway at 3200-3500rpm. That's approx 7-8 miles per gallon. I'm just passing on my experience of using it and would rather it be 30%. The only way to know for sure whether it's 30 or 50% is to try it yourself. I don't know the exact figure. At the end of the day, if you over compensate and work off 50% you'll never have a problem. Pro Tig, Tubbed, big rubber...nice. Don't know why you need nitrous. You'll make 450 on 85 if you want it. Re- route the nos to the cabin for a laugh.

scareyride what are you gonna do when you run outta the fuel though. I'd imagine putting in normal 98 fuel when your stuck would mean a massively rich car.

not if u have a laptop under the front seat, takes about 2 second really to switch a map over.... as for running deep into the nines on 98 ??? wtf ??

Yeah.. have considered that. I buy 190litres at a time and have stashes at the few places the car goes. Or, as exchaser said, you could have another map. Just plan ahead. brettvlt been answered mate. ProTig, I wouldn't be suprised if the hydroscopic properties of 85 made the engine 5-10% more efficient due to the cooling effect and slower burn. It's hard to tell when the car has never been right before. It comes on full boost quicker at around 3300revs, where before on pump and sh*t tune it was 3500. Also, the car doesn't slow down going through the rev range in top. It fly's through it almost like it was second. MSC Performance tuned a car with a GT35 that ran 9.5 on c16, so don't be too concerned about needing a bigger puffer. The 341 was at 23psi which is just starting get the turbo singing. Rob said we could crank it up to 33psi before it hit the wall. I don't want to even think what the car would make at 30psi. I know the drivetrain will not be impressed.
