Wow Mitch! I never knew you bought this! Great buy! Your post has confused me though - is the motor and turbo fucked? Full of water/seized? Does it have FE2? That tape deck is mint; I'm actually after one that good as well... Regarding the wheels, keep the VLT hubbies, but get some steelies welded. That way you have the width, and still keep the OG look. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

the motor and turbo were seized and collecting water when the last owner bought the car i will reread the first post and make sure its clear. the car doesn't have fe2 which seems strange but being an sl it would appear that wasn't a factory item. it does however have power steer and aircon which would theoretically make it an executive. these are factory fitted as per the build sheet and not dealer fitted however so the car is certainly an oddity might go wider rims how wide could you go? and can you get 22/235s in 15"s for street use? edit - you could go as wide as you want i suppose but what i meant was practically as in trying not to get scrubs etc. i think i might just get some rims as they don't scrub as much as 15"s which tend to get a baloon sidewall.

I think 9" wide should fit, but as always, depends on offset. You going to do it properly? Get the air con working and what not?

yeah will get the a/c working might need your assistance with that. but first thing is a roady we are getting there though to be truthfull it wasn't far off when i bought it. these are my newest purchase and are walky style fronts and a rear with walky style headrests. these came out of a vn sv le wagon which met it's fate when it came around a blind corner and into a cow... cows are big.

What power mods are you getting? Exhaust, FMIC? More boost? Anything or keeping it totally stocko? sorry i missed this post. mods will be - no holes cooler kit and afm hidden in piping. (not in stock position and not visible from the top i will need to get an 'extenda-harness made up and if you can imagine a gktech no holes kit imagine the afm down the bottom.) 3" exhaust dumped at the diff with a 2 1/4" pea shooter out tha back (looks stock) eventually - superlows all round with nolathane bush kit swaybars the whole lot. make her hold the road as for the rims i think low profile tyres on 17s will be good maybe some of those hdt aeros from the vn range. otherwise i will go all out on decorsas or momo status for the car but only for show and the walkies for go. hey fellas i have just been enjoying the car so far. its been out for numurkah show us ya wheels with the etstreet banner, and down to rosebud for nye last night. still no worries but dad's walkies i fitted are screwed. the tyres need replacing and balancing they are old worn and the rubber has gone hard. the shake was terrible. i also NEED a smaller momo steering wheel and an exhaust. i can hear the exhaust holding the car back and the steering wheel fails hard. (stock) otherwise the car is still great, mainly i have been keeping it clean while working on my other cars.

thanks weezy i had a look and while the booskit is what i am after, the steering wheel isn't. i would really love a hdt vl group a ss with the red and blue slash through it might have to settle for something else in the meantime. Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Mitch, the factory shocks are matte black coloured Monroes, with a GM part number stamped on them. Are you sure they're GTs? GTs are gold coloured with a clear coat. Your shocks may still be original!

oh i think they are monroe gts and blue with a red / blue yellow sticker... ah well who gives a rats they def are not black. weezy - yeah i know they are expensive, any early hdt / sv 3 spoke will do in reality. but i want to do this one correct so even an aftermarket steering wheel with the group a centre would be alright. has to be a collapsable ribbed bosskit and those blue and red stickers are made repro. also i saw on the hdt ebay site repro centres popped up a while ago. not for a group a ss hdt though.
