i agree with you both, most of the come range is very good and i know heaps of ppl using them and have never had any dramas but some of the CHEAPER stuff is'nt, if ur going to build a stroker spend the money and get a quality crank not a cheaply made one
i should be picking up all the parts in the next two weeks just have to book it in to get the engine bay modified to fit the turbos and then the fun will begin
ricky-the eze10s kit is $6500 and the vortech charger kit that i bought cost me $5000 but i still needed to buy a fuel pump, injectors and tune it so they are similar in price when u buy the fule system
u'll need the exhaust done and someone to tune your computor for u, just give them a ring but id go for the turbo
as above, eagle cranks tend to fail, mostly under boost from what i've seen. as for come racing, i dont think its the quality, more the price that drives people away. i know of a few people that refuse to BUY from them, purely based on price though, not quality.

hi all i just bought 87 berlina 304 5 speed looking at putting a 671 blower on it any one got any info on brands pricing (for new kits) and what sort of power is acheivable ontop of stock bottom end ??
I've never heard of 1 failure resulting in the quality of COME racing components. Sure parts around it have failed, but anything made by COME is of very high standards. Of course if you are using COME components in applications they are not designed for, you can only expect failures, a cast crank isn't going to last with a blower belt pulling on the front of it compared to a steel crank, everything has their limits.
With EFI, if you are not doing the work yourself, don't expect change out of 10k for either option, each has their pro's and con's. I will tell you one thing though, it is easier/cheaper to remove a supercharger than a turbo when the EPA come knocking...
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
if i get epa'd ill just rip the motor out and slap one of the dozens of efi 5L's my cousin has collecting dust in his workshop into it, not gonna go ripping heads off for those c unts
any build is costly just depends on who and what you know and what u find at the right time
since when have COME racing cranks been made in china?
correct me if im wrong but didnt eddie tassones 383ci twin turboed holden run a COME racing crank?

Sure did, and still does as far as I know. They are very resilliant to a world of hurt and pretty popular on the drag scene.
This is straight off their website,
383 Holden EFI...9.98 E.T @133 mph
Darren Parker and his VP SS Commodore ran an excellent 9.98 ET and backed it up with a 9.99 finishing runner up in the recent Summernationals at WSID in Sydney. Just last weekend Darren did it again by winning the West Coast race in Perth. The COME 383 has done almost 500 passes in Darren's Commodore. The engine was freshened a 2nd time late last year and still has one of our nodular cast cranks and Keith Black hyperuetectic piston. On this most recent birthday we decided not to be greedy and change the rods and pistons. 500 passes is a lot of work and we can't complain about "street" type components not giving us incredible value for money. In fact, the cast crank looks like new, has no cracks (after all that work) so it went back in. A new set of COME "H" beam rods and custom Wiseco forged pistons were also fitted to complete the upgrade.
This engine is based on our 383 Ultimate EFI Holden but has optional solid roller cam and valvetrain, makes 550 bhp on our engine dyno and crosses the finish line just over 7000 rpm every run. You won't find find too many combinations as effective and reliable as this for a weekend Bracket Racer application or for street strip use with it's normal hydraulic roller valvetrain and pump fuel version putting our over 480 bhp year after year.
So.......I know what engine components i'll be sticking with.

[QUOTE=silver vh]If you know heaps of engine builders who refuse to work with them, give me names and numbers?
I used a COME crank in my engine that I built just recently and when it was balanced there was not 1 drama whatsoever and certainly no grief from the machinist.
My mates VR uses the same crank and runs 10.30's at 130+mph pulling high rpm, the crank is fine? Who are you getting this info from?
If you are going to go to the extent of tarnishing a business' reputation, at least have proof to back it up and at the very least know what you are talking about, I have never heard of a hypertumatic piston in my life!
I'm guessing your mates vr is trents??Theres not to may vr's that run 10's lol
Is he useing the cast or steel crank though??
