Man there are sooooooo many ill-informed people who think 'THEY' know what's going on in SA. For a few years I was up to school with all the news, and indeed still get snippets of information. Tracks built on Garden Island......Sporting Car club buying the old Mitisubishi track at Tailem Bend.....and about a hundred other stories. Eventually all it was was a lot of hot air. People with pipe dreams, third hand information and so many political manouvering that it makes your head spin. Bottom line is that the whole shoot and match is a very slow wheel....turning up hill on a bumpy track. Expecting to see a 'new' venue in SA is like expecting to see the bottom of the River Torrens! I'm sure in time something might happen....but we have been without racing for a l o n g t i m e. It's all cool to be optimistic, but to dream like some of the fools in this thread are is just plain sad. Factor in travelling to other tracks for now, as that is the safest and most closest to reality option for SA based 1/4 mile racers. RJ

AIR is getting resurfaced now...isnt it...

Can't wait! AIR has been resurfaced (including the dip at 1/2 track), but the problem is on the back part of the circuit where the machinery sank through the track due to the high groundwater level when the resurfacing was done. (Virginia has very very shallow groundwater and the job wasn't commenced till it had already started to rain a bit) BJ is heading for street meets again. My info doesn't come from BJ, but from the mob who did the re-surfacing. (one of my good mates is a senior manager there). Soon boys, soon!! Lets just hope there's no rules like "nothing faster than 10.00"!!!
