it also depends on how you drive it, you drive like a knob and you will get done, you just cruise in it and even if you not meant to be driving it chances are they will let you go.
i read the vt 185i is ok but the 195i isnt????

I had a VS SII HSV Senator.. had it for nearly a year.. riding on 20's didnt get pulled over once went through booze buses ect they just looked it up and down said "nice car, blow into here until tell you to stop"..As stated above aslong as you've held your licence befor 01/07/07 its in the power to weight ratio your sweet.. and Dazza if a cop had of pulled me over and said "oh this is a HSV you cant drive it" i would of pointed to my tare weight of 1600kgs on my rego sticker and my 185i sticker and would of said "Good Day!"..

Wow that is really unlucky. U have to admit when your not doing anything wrong and for that to happen is rare?

also as i said before it depends on which cop u come across some are real d*ks others dont really care as long as ur not doing anything wrong
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.
didnt read the whole thing but a VS SS is legal under the pre-july07 power-weight ratio laws, and i think even a 185i. id assume since a VT is heavier, it would also be legal...as long as its just the 5.0L, not 5.7. it would also depend on the cops idea of the power-weight as ive heard cops have different figures, which is bull**** but anyway...
but anyone licenced after july07 cant drive a v8 at all. so if you got your licence before july07 and your SS is just a 5L then you can drive it.

I'll just re quote myself and add the letter thing, and under line that it would be in the police officers opinion, not law.
Look to expand on what I was saying, if you act like a decent human being at a random licence check and you are able to explain in a polite and courteous manner that your vehicle was under the power/weight & capacity/weight ratio's... then you shouldn't have an issue at all driving the car what so ever.
If you were pulled over for doing 70 in a school zone and start acting like a loud mouth fucken habib, pointing at shit and talking back... the copper will just ignore the facts, fine you for the "driving a high powered vehicle" rule and probably ask you to pop the bonnet and get you on enough defects so you gotta get a tow home... and while your waiting for a taxi saying "but officer, its legit ya dog rah rah rah" the copper will just go *shrug* "oh well take it up with the Sergeant/i'll see you in court"...
So, know where you stand, even better maybe get some sort of document as proof, talk in a polite and courteous manner and you should be fine...
That easy enough to understand?
