08-06-08, 19:25 GMT+10#24 lol +1 for the mf5 being a decent paperweight. Crunchy fpos. I read on here they have the same gearset as the rb20det box but not the double syncos so they are not smooth at all.

23-06-08, 22:35 GMT+10#26 instead of starting a new thread for no reason, did execs have the sII engines which are better for turbo conversions? or was it only calais? mines 87' model... and also how much would i roughly be paying for labour to get turbo gear set up on my car if i provided the parts because i have no idea how to do it myself
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

23-06-08, 23:12 GMT+10#27 Im pretty sure all model vl's started using the s11 motor late 87 & 88. S11 isn't better its pretty much your only option because it had a bung on the side of the block for your turbos oil feed.
Ill look for a picture of the bung for you so you can get under your car and take a look.
As for bolting up the conversion i wouldn't go anywhere to get it done i would find a mechanically minded mate to help you out it really is pretty basic to do with some help .
There is a really good site with step by step information ill also see if i can find that for you man.

23-06-08, 23:13 GMT+10#28 All series 2 vl's have the series 2 engines unless the engine has been swapped at some stage to a s1.
I'd guess the labour with parts provided would probably set you back around the $600-1000 mark
