Hey all, there are just so many people that muck you around when it comes to selling a modified car, they all want it for nothing once all the hard work is done. They cant build a cool ride themselves and try and F#@k you over on price. There will be a buyer out there for your car just takes a little time thats all, the market is pretty strange at the moment no one got any real cash. If you can afford to hold onto it then enjoy it, and wait for the money that suits you, otherwise you have to meet what the market says its worth.
I only sold RIPV8S because I wanted to move on with the EH Build and didnt wont to do it half assed so the VL had to go to make it happen the way I want it to turn out. Good to see all these newcars and guys from NZ on here now, Keep it up and take care
Cheers Kris

Hope the EH is coming along nicely Kris!! good to see your still have a peak on here
Well said Kris.
The only real excuses for not parting with your cold hard cash are that half the fun is in the build. I've already learnt heaps working on mine. Before starting this project the most adventurous thing I had done was changing oil and brake pads! I'm proud to say I'm doing as much as possible between myself and my mates. The only jobs I'm actually paying for is the panel and paint and dyno tuning.
Coming up with cash is the other hard part. Although in the end I will have spent more than enough to buy a car like EVLHSV, I've never had a lump of cash big enough to buy one outright. Working and saving like b1tch over the last three years was the only way I could afford to do my project.

Yep 25k goes nowhere,so far on the resto I have spent 46k.
But saying that it is not a bad hobby, you never recoup what you spend if you include your time.
i dont think i could buy a modified vehicle that was modified by someone else. its just not right. all 4 of my vls i bought from stock. i may not have done as much as alex and ss nut to them but im only young and my vl turbo at the mo is the " most modified" if you could say that. have the joy in owning a car is building it yourself. fitting turbochargers , brakes, springs fixing release bearings etc in my case.
p.s. sorry for writing my life story .

It is just that though, something to spend your time doing. If all you ever did was 'earn' money (as good as it sounds) then all that means is you're always working (for someone else?).. working on your car is paying some money to use up a whole lot of time
Some original photos have not been recovered yet.

Took me 5 years to save and get parts that I needed and did the whole thing at once that way you can do it right and do it once, good things come to those that wait, Building them and seeing your ideas become reality is one of the coolest and creative things you can do with a car and no two are alike
